have never used a vertical fore end grip, but see more and more folk using them.

Thinking on getting one for my AR, but wanted to hear what you folks think of them first.

...and if they're for specialised uses. (vice plinking)

Thanks- Garry

I use them on all of my CQB or GP guns
I usually dont use them on more longer range stuff (AR10/Mk11 or SPR/SAM stuff)

It gives you a lot more control of the weapon in CQB, and also allow a stronger grip and more ergonomic posture -- which if good for reducing fatigue when you have to hold a gun on someone or something for a while - and also help sin weapon retension - and gives your muzzle thump more force ;D

Stay tuned for BigRed's sexolicious ParaPKM love with vert grip.  "Small" MG's are a lot easier to use like an automatic rifle with one (ParaC9/Mk46, the C9/M249 with a RAS-- even the Mk48)

'Nuff said...

Vertical grips = good for CQB, GP, Full Auto, 'ergonomic' posture (more like a fist fighting posture), etc. etc..  Strongly suggested for all but long ranged apps.

They're also good for the LCF... Nothing says 'I'm a well tuned troop." like a vert grip on a pimped out weapon  ;D

I don't use a lot of weapons, but I did find a grip helped in improving my speed to bring the rifle up onto target

Not only that but it also forces the body to "square off" to the target....presenting a full chest plate instead of the side of the torso.

I like 'em.
