Waiting 3 Years to Finish Basic Training.

I'm in the reserves and I feel like all im doing is sitting around. It took almost a year from the first day I paraded with my unit to when I finally got BMQ and its been a year now since I did my BMQ, to an extent that I remember very little from my course. As a student I can't afford to do weekend courses because my BMQ caused my mark to drop drastically so i'm waiting to get loaded on a summer SQ (BMQLand) and DP1. But as it stands I only might get on course, not including the fact that I may have to do a field study this summer for school which will make going on course improbable.

I'm really not sure it is worth waiting 3 years to finally finish my basic trade training especially as a female member who does not wish for the military to be a career. I don't want to quit but i also feel like i'm wasting my time as well as my units.

I think you just answered your own question.  Get your schooling done, the reserves will always be there if you want to try again at a later date, and you may make room for someone who does have the time.

I second that.

It simply isn't working for you now. Although you knew the requirements before enrolling, everybody knows that it's very tough to predict how it'll work out in actuality.

I'd consider leaving on good terms and, if you decide, take it up after your schooling.
