Hi , I know that my question have been probably ask a lot of times but I haven't found it. I successfully did the CFAT , medic and interview and now I've been waiting for almost 2 months.I called the recruiters to ask if everything was okay with my case and they said that it was , but nothing more.So I'm wondering two things , first off how much time will or can it takes ? (Not because I'm an impatient person but I want to know if i should take a 3-6 months gym subscription) and Secondly , should I ask for a upperbody training plan ? (I already have a good cardio , playing goaltender in junior hockey league)

Thank you for you answers

Every application is different and the waiting times vary.  Sometimes, depending on what trade you are applying for, they may hold off sending you on BMQ because of the timing of your trades training.  This (hopefully) prevents you from sitting on PRETC too long (or at all).  Keep in touch with the recruiting office just as you have been doing.

Here is the thread you were probably looking for in The Recruiting Process sub-forum:  TIMINGS - ESTIMATED TIMES FOR_______________

As far as getting a 3-6 month membership to a gym, check and see about weekly usage or at least make sure to check the refund policy for unused time.

Yes, an upper body workout is important.  Concentrate on running/cardio, sit ups, push ups and grip strength.

Welcome to the site.  There a wonderful search function here.

BMQ ? PRETC ? , I'm new with those terms too lol

Thank you for the reply

BMQ = Basic Military Qualification

BMOQ = Basic Military Officer Qualification (just in case)

PRETC = Post Recruit Education & Training Centre

There's a Military Terms dictionary here too.  ;)

Woah that Military Terms thing is really handy, thanks for posting that.

Waaay back then (many years ago), when I worked in a Recruiting Centre, we had cards for every trade and the applicants were placed by a merit list, not "first in, first served".

After the interview with the Military Career Counselor, we gave points for the applicant:
below average candidate - 1 point
average candidate - 2 points
above average candidate - 3 points
exceptional candidate - 4 points
candidate's 1st choice - 3 points
candidate's 2nd choice - 2 points
candidate's 3rd choice - 1 point

Sooo, if you had 5 points and were on the Military Police waiting list, someone with 6 or 7 points would go ahead of you, even if they applied 2 months after you.

(remember - that was a long time ago. I'm not sure of the process now)
I'd ask how many others are in line for that trade.

Actually 2 months ago I had a discussion with an officer at my CFRC and he said that they changed the policy and that it is now first in, first served... we even had a big discussion on the long term impact it may have on the CF... From what I understood it is new from this year. I don't know if this is a policy change for every CFRC or only CFRC mtl.
