Hi! Looking for 1 x Tac Helo Pilot Jacket OD and 1 x Armoured Crew Jacket in size 6740. Also looking for a new Grohmann Jump/Engineer Knife. Thanks a bunch!

Please, please. please - Tac Hel - no "o" on the end.

Try Army Outfitters. There were several there the other day - the Tac Hel ones that is.

...because HEL is the official CF/NATO short-form of helicopter.  It also doesn't sound right to those who live and breath the hell that is tac hel every day.  ;D

Do you mean one of the older AFV jackets?  I am heading to the Surplus in Hfx, I will take a look there.

New Grohmann?  Here is a link to the site, and the knife you are looking for.  There is a link "Online Dealers", maybe that will be a help?  The "Canadian Army" one comes with Sheath #3 or there is one not shown that can carry the sharping stone.  I wish I would have gotten the latter of the two.

I have had a Grohmann JM knife for...well a few years.  Aside from having to put 3 extra rivets in the belt loop (2 upper, 1 lower), it is one durable piece of kit so far.  I hang mine off a belt loop with a carabiner with the TV and it works good.  Easy to get at it and all that.   ;)

Well....you learn a new thing every day.  I always called my knife a "Russell Knife".  Apparently D.H. Russell designed the knife, but had a Czech cutler, Grohmann, make the knife.  In CF service since '64.  Cool.

Wow if you can teach G2G something you're really, then you really can teach an old dog new tricks!    :dontpanic:

To be honest?  I could never really know the "right" name for it.  JM, FE, Belt, Russell Belt and Grohmann are all names I have heard it called...

So I just call it "my knife".   :blotto:

My knife, on the right side of the blade, says

Grohmann
Pictou, NS
Canada

and on the left side it says

DH Russell
#3s
STAINLESS

???

I am going to take a look for your AFV Jacket whilst I am hunting down Mrk IIIs tomorrow.

Had the same knife for 10 years now.

Incidentally I bought it from Bilko (now Outfitters) also...

So get both items from him.

Neato!  Incidently thats how I carry my current knife right now :D hahaha funny how army ppl think alike.  ;) Thanks for the looking of the AFV jackets :) they are damn hard to come by and the ones I've seen are in terrible to atrocious condition...not to mention a number of them seemd to have found their way over to the Brits on their little island  ::). As for the Tac Hel jacket...they TOO are an impossible item to find in good condition. I know...I've tried... I can get every other flight jacket in new condition except the Tac Hel  :crybaby: they are kick ass jackets to ride with  :)

Try the Padre's link.  I checked dave's store and he has quite a few in various sizes listed online at his Ebay store  http://stores.ebay.com/army-outfitters  I can't remember which page, but there are a few listed on a number of pages so don't stop at the first ones you see.

MedTech,

Just got back from the Surplus on Agricola here in Halifax.  No-go on the AFV jacket.  Sorry.

I will ask around, I suspected there wouldn't be any as there are no Armd units in the area.  However, there might be one "back home" that has them.  I am gonna email one of the boys to check it out.

MRM

I have one AFV jacket in stock. I have a good quantity of sizes of OD green tac hel jackets also. Also I have quantity of real issue russel knives in stock. These have the overlap sheath. Don't be fooled by the ones without the proper sheath and brass rivets. They are not to Canadian mil spec
