Hey I‘ve been Searchin this site for the last hour lookin for an answer to this question.
Q..How does everyone from across country get out to St.Jean for BT are funds given to accepted soldiers so they can pay for there transportation.
Or are we expected to pay out of our own pockets?
A..???
Thanks Lots.
Peace

the military pays for your ticket, you pick it up at the airport, board the plane, you get to to Quebec. you get a cab, then you pay for the cab to get from the airport to the base, an your re-emburst for it later

Yup..they use American Express lol. I got a nifty online ticket thing, its just a page with ticket info on it. All payed for courtesy of the Canadian tax payer :p

Thanks Guys.
But I‘m travelin from ottawa so I don‘t think I‘ll need a plane ticket and I‘ve already talked to a buddy who said he‘ll drop me off at the front door in St.Jean. Will the Forces pay him for his travel expences??

I doubt there pay for his travel expences

why not just take the plane ticket?

Yeah I guess I could take the plane.Or maybe sell the ticket and take a road trip eh!
I am only ‘bout 2 1/2 hours from St.Jean though.

you have to goto the airport to get the ticket, so why waste the time to drive to the airport, get it, then try to sell it quickly before the plane leaves, then drive to the base...

bad idea, for many reasons

Intelligere, as for getting compensation for the travel expence, Gorgon5000 said he wouldent be driving, but a friend of his is willing to drive him there, I dunno

just save yourself the hassle/problems an just the plane...

When you arrive in St. Jean you will have a mind numbing lecture/tutorial on claiming travel expense at that time you will be told how to claim for the eligible expense of utilizing your friends time and vehicle. Translates to mileage from Ottawa to St. Jean.

Typically you would then receive the claim anywhere from 1-3 months later.

I didnt know you could get travel expenses for a friend, just because they drove you

thanks for the infomation sir

My father drove me to my CFAT, medical and interview, for all three he was reimbursed. If that‘s any indication then you too would be reimbursed for your friend having to drive you. I only live 20 minutes from the main recruiting office in Toronto so I was only given 5 bucks. Another person who had to come from barrie was given over 70 though...

what? we could get travel reimbursment for that

no one told me that..

Thanks for the posts fellas guess I‘ll take the plane.
Peace Gorgon5000

Yeah I was surprised to get $4.50 from the centre to cover my transit expense. The thing was it really cost me $30 as I took a cab...lol (Not that I expect to be reimbursment that much as it wasn't the cheapest way to travel).
