I'm in Khandar too at the moment and I gotta tell you someone in your chain of command is screwing with you.
We've recieved TONS of care packages from complete strangers. Music CDs, food, prayers, letters from supporting families, thousands of letters from elemetry and highschool kids, MORE food. We recieved neat little exacto knives from hesco.co, everyone recieved a beautiful zippo lighter with the task force afghanistan crest on it. Little tim hortons hats and quite a few tim hortons cupons which are like gold here. A buddy of mine got a wicked team canada jersey from his affiliated cadet corps (GGFG)
The amount of support from back home is unbelievable. The message is clear. Canada supports her soldiers regardless of politics.
So what gifts exactly are you talking about?
Are you wondering why people in Canada aren't sending you gifts? (Which I gotta say is comming across like a shit question, like you don't feel Canadians are appreciating our efforts here which you'd be clearly wrong)
OR
are you suggesting that some of the gifts sent over from Canada (ie that zippo lighter) never got to you and you think someone took it?
Seems like a VERY weird question to post on army.ca. Sounds liek something you should ask your chain of command about.
In doing what we ought we deserve no praise for it is our duty
