I’m in a signals reserve unit.
I’m a pte basic just finished basic the past summer and there’s a weekend driver wheel course I put my name up for.
However the course starts next weekend and I haven’t been told If I’m on the course. It’s being run by a service unit and we have limited seats, and around 6 guys from my unit who out their name up.
How is it determined who gets on the course? Is it by rank or does my WO choose, a sgt told me that he passed my name to the WO. Do I bother asking the WO if I’m on it or not?

As you are at a reserve unit the only one that can answer your questions is your chain of command. They all have different methods of deciding course loading. Unit A it may use attendance, unit B may use exercises only, unit C may use "Pte Bloggins does everything I tell him right away with no complaints" and unit D may use "Pte Bloggins buys me drinks in the mess". I have never seen 2 units use the exact same criteria for selecting.

Try asking the RF folks as they usually have great input into this.
