SEOUL, South Korea — A woman in South Korea who tried to pass the written exam for a driver’s license with near-daily attempts since April 2005 has finally succeeded on her 950th time.

The aspiring driver spent more than 5 million won ($4,200) in application fees, but until now had failed to score the minimum 60 out of a possible 100 points needed to get behind the wheel for a driving test.

Cha Sa-soon, 68, finally passed the written exam with a score of 60 on Wednesday, said Choi Young-chul, a police official at the drivers’ license agency in Jeonju, 130 miles (210 kilometres) south of Seoul.

Of course, that was only the written portion, she still has to pass the road test.  Scary thought.......  :-\

I think she passed me on the way into work this morning and then 'stopped' IN the Armdale Rotary!!!!

I think there's some people in Kingston that need 950 road tests... the driving here rivals Montreal.

I hear you.  Of course, if you travel up or down Princess St, no one seems to be able to go over 30 km/h.  ::)

Hmmrrpp, you think it's bad in K'ton or Hfx ???  Try driving in Trenton for a day..you head will fall off from all the shaking you'll be doing.  Left turns with right signals, and visa versa, turns with no signal, speeding like there's no tomorrow, stopping for no apparent reasons, then driving under the speed limits...phew, too many infractions to list!  Calgone! take me away!

Moe, they changed that a few years back.  No more confusing rotary (well, it was if you've never done one before) and changed everything into the new park low (sp.) much more faster and easier to navigate.

950 tries? Wonder how many it'll take for the practical? Wonder if she has enough years left??!!

;D

People of this 'magnitude' should never be allowed in the drivers seat - EVER!

Lets hope she has a hardcore driver tester.
