Just wonderd if anyone else has had experience with this and what it's like? Idealy I'd LOVE to be a pilot, jets have always fascinated me, but I'm already 20, so at this point I'm doubting that anyone would let me into that kind of program, but I'd like to got into engineering or mechanics,....I'm unsure of what kind of questions to ask if were to go talk to a recruiter...any advice is greatly apprecaited :)

You may not know what to "ask a recruiter" but you stated something that lead to a great question, "how do I become a pilot in the CF?"

From what I know your age will not stop you from a paid education. If you have anymore questions about joining I think your best bet would be to call a recruiting centre. Also litterally every question you can think up in your head about the Forces has most likely been asked and answered (more then once!).

Good luck with everything, if you need help directing through the site PM me.

Your age is not a factor - I'm 36 and was picked up for pilot, with a subsidized education (not ROTP).  You would likely be on the young end - most of my aircrew selection session were late 20s to early 30s.  One guy was 40.

You have to bear in mind that pilot is extremely, extremely competitive (everyone wants to be one) and your chances are at best slim if you don't present yourself well.  I broke down the numbers when I passed aircrew selection and while I don't remember precisely, it's a tiny percentage of the suitable applicant pool that get all the way through selection and training.  Most are dropped in the application/selection process.

That's not to say it's a lottery, it's up to you to be a better applicant than 90+% of the the other guys.  Plenty of advice on what you need to bring to the table on the forums.
