I am doing a vehicle restoration and would love to get hold of a period Army medical bag to sit in it, as I'm a civvie medic by trade.
Looking for one of shoulder bags, IIRC they were about 18" or so long, simple flap lid with 2 tabs to close it (like the ones on the 84 pattern web gear), shoulder strap and the red cross on a white background on the front.
We don't have any surplus stores near here and I figure they are a rarer item anyway.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Although I don't have what your asking for, I was recently downtown toronto and found exactly what you want.  I don't remember the name of the store but it was an antique dealer down on the street with all the theaters.  It's the type of place where alot of different vendors come and sell there stuff.  There was at least 3 stands that sold old wolrd war 2 memorabilia mostly european but did have some WW2 medical bags.  Hope this helps.

Thanks.
I'll be in TOronto in a couple of weeks and will try to look/call around.
Actually I'm looking for something more recent than WW2. Either looking for  canvas or nylon one, late '70s to '90s s the vehicle was built in '86.

You looking for the backpack kit or the field rescue kit? an what type of vehicle?

Medic 65726,

There is a bag like that in a surplus store in Oshawa On. Your in Toronto right?

Actually I'm in Thunder Bay. I was in Toronto for the weekend but never made it to any Surplus stores.
I am looking for a date appropriate bag to throw in the back of my restored Iltis.
Any help is greatly apprecaited.

That would be awesome. All it needs to be is a CF Medical bag of some sort that is date appropriate (mid '80s to 2003 ish).
Don't want to spend too much of course.

BUMP....
Still looking. Preferable for I believe it is an '82 pattern medic shoulder bag/satchel...................
Any help greatly appreciated.

I'll see what I can "dig up" in the next few weeks for you.

Ben
