2025 Federal Election - 28 Apr 25

China executed 4 Canadians a week ago... (maybe 2 weeks ago now)

Other than a mention in passing, I haven't heard much media coverage on this.

Have any of you?
Dual nationals arrested for drug trafficking. Pity, but sort of a "you knew the risks" kind of situation.

Right. If they’re Chinese citizens on Chinese soil, that’s the ball game. Their Canadian rights and legal protections don’t follow them.

I don’t support the death penalty, personally, but state sovereignty in criminal law is pretty fundamental.

Digging into this particular poll you can see committed voters now as week three is shaping up. That was the CPCs main strength from the onset having a solid committed block. If though this poll is accurate the 62% locked in commitment for the LPC will be tough to fight off.

NDP and Bloc would need significant swings back to them and the Blue Grit/Red Tories shifting back to them CPC.

Another side note. PP is changing his messaging and it looks,Ike he stopped using those ridiculous slogan signs. Some here may not believe in the polls but his shift and pivot tells us he certainly does.

Spoiled ballots are a farce. People can try fool themselves that they did their duty and voted, but they didn't. They went to the polling station and created a piece of scrap paper. It's a decision that is all about them and has nothing to do with the country or it's direction. Nobody knows what they did, unless they go bragging about it. It's about their own conscience. They might as well stay home and quit making extra work for the volunteers that work the polls.

I know it's not how our system works. However, when talking about who to vote for, convention says that voting for Poliviere is voting for Conservatives. I already know how to suck eggs, thanks.

Terry Gavin continues to try and unravel the Chinese Communist Party influence in Canada.
Some thoughts here:

Here is some detailed link analysis stuff he has worked on:

Canadian current difficulties with the Trump administration and the US aside, we don’t want to go further into the CCPs orbit. Cdn geopolitical naïveté and anti American sentiment might cause us to drift that way much to our strategic peril.

What an undemocratic take on spoiling ballots.

Spoiled ballots are still recognized as a valid form of expression. It is still better than not voting.

Undemocratic take? That is simply your personal take on it. As such, it doesn’t really mean a whole lot to me. I certainly don't see any truth in your ridiculous assertion. But you go girl.

Spoiled ballots might still be recognised but it doesn't change anything, literally or figuratively. Still better than not voting? A spoiled ballot is not a vote. It's a spoiled ballot. That's why it's not called a spoiled vote.

"A spoiled ballot is a ballot that has been marked incorrectly and is not counted by election officials. Spoiled ballots can happen for any number of accidental or deliberate reasons, such as being torn, soiled, or marked in any that would identify the voter. A spoiled ballot never makes it into the ballot box. This differs from a rejected ballot, which is a ballot that makes it into the ballot box but is rejected for being improperly marked, such as undervoting or overvoting, or not marked at all."

Yes. I can repeat it if you like. It meant enough for you to respond. And I could care less what it means to you.

Not sure why you are upset. But I take it your views are not informed on being well read on it so I doubt tir accept the truth anyways.

Again, some reading the subject would be of value. Maybe. Our country unfortunately does not have a none of the above option. So it’s the next best thing

It’s the deliberate part you should dig into a bit more. I’m not spoon feeding you. Plenty out there if you go look.

The ridiculous part is you dressing down GK Dundas for his democratic decision.

😬Damn, I stepped into your dastardly trap.

He brought up the subject, I gave my thoughts on the subject. Did I address him personally?

I did address him somewhat in the last part, but that’s hardly a dressing down.

You need to get a better hobby.🥱

GK Dundas - I apologize if I offended you. It wasn't my intent.

I still disagree with you, however I'm not offended.
