Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

We're still at the we'll see stage.
And here's why.

Carney unable to find permanent chief of staff after courting high-profile candidates
A number of senior Liberals, such as Justin Trudeau’s former principal secretary Gerald Butts, veteran ministerial chief of staff Cyrus Reporter and former United Nations ambassador Marc-André Blanchard, were approached to take on the job but they declined, according to the sources.

That's too bad. Butts would have been a great addition to the team.

Yeah, pretty funny. Carney needs to keep disgraced Mendicino on because disgraced Butts doesn't want the job. Who seen that coming?

Butts probably prefers to stay working from the sidelines.

Breaking the current models and mindsets would be a Good Thing.

No more useless mandate letters infested with Deliverology reporting on nothingness is a good first step.
Especially: right off the bat.

Wouldn't be terribly surprised if there's mandate letters, or some similar per-minister public tasking docs, come the fall, aligned with whatever's in the budget as a public communications exercise.

I'm reading this and I'm happy - a no-nonsense business oriented adult seems to be running the show and that is what is needed - Professionalism.

I'd like to hope that as he finds competent individuals who perform their responsibilities at the level he expects, that the 'micro-managing' that was called out in the article falls to the side.

Inside Mark Carney's PMO where ministers get called out, punctuality matters and patience is on short supply

Is that to say there's no waste or unproductive aspects in your department now?
Something tells me that my answer unless it's anything other than a resounding demand for Maple-DOGE, it will never be sufficient for you haha. Sure we can blow up the department further to try and root out the waste of the guy taking 20 mins instead of 15 mins for breaks, but at that point is the juice not worth the squeeze?

How great would that be? Calling out the entitled politicians and holding them more accountable. If accurate they're not going to like that very much.

You don't need to squeeze that MAPLE sauce on broski! I don't think we need to indenture Mr Musk up here to count pens.

If you're working for a non-governmental company then there probably isn't too much shenanigans going on (at least in that context).

Thats why Carney might be great at the job. Treating the government like a private company in so far as to not wasting money or letting dead weight drag the company down. Prioritizing productivity and not seniority. Maybe.

Considering Butts in the Chief of Staff roll? Yikes.

If that were completely true, Dilbert and The Office would not have the followings they have :)
