she's barely running her province, unless you count running it into the ground. We are on track for a provincial debt upwards of 12B+ because of low oil prices, and Smith has spent more time outside AB then inside AB.
She can take time off to suck up to trump but can't go to ottawa to meet her sovereign? (this is assuming she's not there, which hasn't been confirmed)
I don’t have access to her calendar, but I suspect the other Premiers’ in baskets aren’t empty either. To be fair to her, though, as others have mentioned, I can’t tell if she was the only no-show. It’ll be up to the eye of the political beholders to judge her timetable triage.

This debt is within the AB governments control, these increases are partially of their own making, such as splitting Alberta health services into 4 separate agencies, increasing the size of the GoA, Carney also only just got elected, Smith has been in power for years and has been promising a return to a balanced budget that keeps getting further out of reach. I don't hear Carney claiming to balance the budget withn 4 years when he got elected.
Yes I did, in my mind theres a difference between traveling to Ottawa for a throne speech, and a week in washington to attend several prayer lunch ins, and lobby for AB (not canada, just AB). So far this year she has had one trip to japan, two trips to florida, and one to washington. A second washrington trip was canceled, It should be noted one of the florida trips was original told to the public as a family vacation, then it was revealed from FOIP that it cost tax payers $10,000 to fly there, and get a photo op with trump.
That's because he doesn't care about balancing the budget. He'll keep adding to it for the next 4 years.
She's the premier of Alberta, of course. Not the premier of Canada. It stands to reason she's going prioritize Alberta. I would say especially with the contempt the rest of Canada shows Alberta.

Alberta debt is for wasteful ideologically-driven spending; federal debt is for non-partisan investment and infrastructure.
