Israeli strikes on Iran (2024, 2025, etc.)

This is currently happening too. With luck they are political prisoners escaping looking to change things, and not actual criminals. It's a ton of people.

Lotsa out-migration going on, for sure ...
What we don’t need is a protracted 5yr civil war with 5-8 million new refugees flooding Europe
The ghost of the Iraq war has entered the chat, again ...

It sure seems like Iran is running short on launchers, or people to operate them. Last 2 salvos have had less than 10 missiles each. The one before last was only 5.

Super legit NOTAM. Whiteman AFB is ‘closed for maintenance’.

Whiteman is where the B2s live.
A little aside to that, it seems the FAA has reverted to the original meaning of NOTAM. There must be no big problems left to solve.

On February 10, 2025, the term "Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM)" was changed to "Notice to Airmen (NOTAM)", and the title of FAA Order 7930.2 was changed to "Notice to Airmen (NOTAM)".

The son doesn't seem to take too much after the father, politically. From what I've found, SAVAK of the past wouldn't mesh very well with his more liberal beliefs today specifically on human rights. If anything his years in exile might have been beneficial.

According to Terry Glavin, the Crown Prince's faction has been causing division among the anti-Khomeinist diaspora.

I’d like to think the time has come as well but Iran’s disaffected masses have no effective leadership to turn to, and the opposition in exile is deeply fractured. I’m not at all sure that it has helped that Netanyahu’s government has given every appearance of having invested all its hopes in Reza Pahlavi, the “exiled prince” and son of the deposed Shah of Iran.

For some very deep background on the Canadian diaspora and the unhelpful role Pahlavi’s supporters have been playing in the effort to unite the opposition, it’s below the paywall here. For a more global view, I know of no assessment of Iran’s democratic opposition and its tumults that’s better than Arash Azizi’s The Fiasco of Iranian Diaspora Politics.

Trump has left G7 early, and in the past half hour has tweeted these on his Truth Social account:

Not sure if we’re at “hold on to your butts” yet but it’s feeling a bit closer…

Oh Jesus, this doesn't bode well.

I don't think that there should be any Western troops on the ground, western bombs, well......
Maybe a few “observers” with a penchant for long range shooting…but I’m sure the IDF has a handle on that
