Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

The point, is that by hanging your hat on his formal liberal mp status to emphasize "yesterdays Liberals arent today's Liberals" while omiting
A- he's a paid lobbyist
B -his political views have shifted majorly since his time as an MP and he's now pretty far right within the CPC spectrum

You're deliberately and dishonestly mischaracterizing information.

Extreme example- but its directly analogous to qualifying DJT's opinion as that of a prominent DNC donor
BTW, pretty much the whole auto industry is backing up what Dan Mcteague says, anything to snap back about that?

I just find it funny that when he was an MP, he spent all his time dragging oil company executives before committee to investigate price fixing.

In all those years and committees, he never found evidence of price fixing.

12 years as an MP, he did something right. and chances are he changed his mind and views on O and G? That would be refreshing

He's not dumb and I like listening to him, but I also take what he says regarding O&G with a grain of salt and find other sources, if i'm interested in the topic.

Seems hard to believe that the North American auto industry cant make PHEVs with an 80km range, when im pretty sure they all offer better than that already in their lineup. And they have 10 yrs to do so for passenger vehicles

I very deliberately havent commented either way on the content of his opinion.

My post was directed at the patently partisan and dishonest way in which you framed it. You can either rant about ABC ghosts in the room or own that.

My collective definitely has an upper limit.
Interesting. The PA group is limited to 262.5 hours vacation leave, plus the 37.5 hours one time vacation entitlement for accumulation of leave, but there's no upper limit on sick leave.

That's actually a problem; it's a system that benefits old farts like me, but junior personnel with live changing illnesses are forced to either draw down vacation or go on sick leave without paying due to the lack of a short term disability plan to bridge to long term disability.

That the CPC did not manage to make that change is unfortunate.

15 a year and it does bank up to a max of 75 if I recall. Id have to look into it but Im currently on LWOP for tour so Im cant remember off the top of my head.
do you get special leave credits for family at all. That was my favourite: no medical required and you were never docked for a day's leave. "Circumstances did not permit the timely acquisition of adequate professional assistance" Must have written that in a hundred times.

There is family related leave yes. Both compassionate and for normal fmaily stuff like taking your wife/kids to medical appointments.

Wow...

Average number of sick days taken by public servants growing post-COVID, new data shows

After hitting a low of 5.9 days in 2020-21, number rising as people return to offices

Between 2017-18 and 2023-24, employees at the Canada Border Services Agency and Correctional Service Canada were consistently among the federal departments and agencies that took the most sick days.

A survey of federal public servants published earlier this year suggested that employees at those organizations were also among the least likely to recommend their office as a great place to work.

Must be nice to call in sick if you just don't feel like working.
