Arctic/Offshore Patrol Ship AOPS

As a civvie I found this post on the difference between FFH and AOPS crew structure useful in understanding the challenges of getting the manpower side locked in.

Likely old hat to those of you in the know.

Great link thank you

Got an opportunity to spend a little time with HMCS MARGARET BROOKE this afternoon in Toronto. Welcoming crew, informative officers and a nice chat with the Captain and the Cox’n made for an awesome visit to see these useful and impressive vessels.

I noticed the Cox’n had his own chair on the starboard side of the bridge and when I asked him about it, the Captain burst out laughing and they exchanged a look. I wasn’t sure what it was all about, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before on an RCN bride, though I obviously stand to be corrected by those in the know here.

That would be the XO's chair.
