Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

Sort like when Carney & POTUS47 this week spent some time talking about improving Canada's defence & the Arctic, and PP saying, "yeah, but he also should have talked about CUSMA - I would have."

I know the Opposition Leader's job is to oppose, but people lose faith when someone screams "why isn't he talking about defence?!?!?" then screaming "why isn't he talking about (insert any other topic) instead of defence?!?!!?" Mind you, all sides do it when in opposition, so it's not entirely surprising.

Gotta agree with others smarter than me here who've said fixing up Rideau Hall should be a non-partisan, adult-table-country thing to do, but will get used as political ammunition all 'round :(
My challenge to you and others, is when, when do you start raising the bar of expectations for PM MC and his brand of Liberals.

Now on defence, I agree, he is mostly doing very well. But we aren't just needing defence looked after by the federal government.

Well I am really glad.

And Marilyn Gladu pubicly stated that now she is a liberal "she can finally get things for her riding..."

Alarm bells? You know that "national unity" that the Liberals preach?

Support the Liberals, we look after you. Don't support us, then fuck you. Thanks, enjoy the care your riding receives while Canadians are hitting food banks at record levels and people making over $120,000 annually are struggling to buy a house.

But I want you to blame Trump, Ford, the global economy, pixy fairies, anything but the Carney Liberals. Damn, it would have really paid to have been a condo developer in Vancouver last week.
Your bucket of crabs analogies get tiring. We get it. Until Poilievre is PM, you won’t be happy. That is your right and choice.

Pierre isn't making a stink out of this. He isn't banging the drums daily in the media about 24 sussex drive being repaired. Its a media attempt at a gotcha moment. Period.

What he goes on about his other far more important issues. Like the deal with America (NOT an option at this point), the economy, cost of living, crime, out of control migration, etc. He said "I am not thinking about 24 Sussex but...(List of items he actually concerned with)." Did you actually listen to what Pierre said? Nope. It was another chance to find some mickey mouse bullshit to jump on Pierre for. And lemme guess, when Carney was hot mic busted for saying his MPs were only good for votes, you have sweet nothing to say about it, do you?

Two standards for judging our politicians, one for the conservatives (Put them under a microscope) and one for the Liberals (Make up a whole plethora of excuses and justifications for them).

Yes, I am openly a conservative card carrying member and I still believe Pierre is the best COA for not only for the Conservatives but for the nation as well.

Feel free to change my mind and it is possible. If I once supported Harper then flipped over to supporting Liz May, trust me, I am adaptable.
Out of control migration?

CUSMA isn't going anywhere until DJT is out of office. So 2028. Deal runs until 2036. Canada is fine.
Canada is not fine just because you say so. Or the CBC. Or CTV. Or the Liberals.

We are paying a steep price and will continue to do so until we stop fucking around.

What do you want? just surrender on CUSMA? That's the only way we get a deal.

Otherwise, rag the puck until Trump is out of office.

You talk a big game about what the LPC isn't doing, but you don't say what they should do instead.

But you know its over, yes?
Go ahead and do your "sigh", google a response that fits your narrative and post it. It will take a while to fix. The migration crisis is not by itself, the ultra slow start ups of new homes means we are still way short of homes, the crime from migrants is still very high (while judges give them a free pass to stay), there is much more to it.

Canada is actively shrinking.

You can talk about homes and crimes, fair beans. Migration? You want us to shrink harder?

Once again, people didn't listen to Pierre. He last week put at the top of the list, leverage our critical minerals for defence to gain a deal with the USA.

But that means hauling ass and getting things done. Funny, the road finally being built to the "ring of fire" in Northern Ontario is finally approved by Dougie. And it is like 95% supported by Indigenous people in the region (like 1 band not near it is complaining)
Thats just a start. feel free to pop by and listen to Pierre on his youtube page, he goes into more details on how he would do things differently. He always has done this, just people refuse to listen to him. And make up rumours instead.

Damn straight he should have put CUSMA at the top of the list.
Why? To be blunt, that’s a ridiculous take.

CUSMA is agreed and in place. Has been for years. It’s the best deal Canada will get under this U.S. administration. There’s no realistic way we achieve a net improvement in our overall position; we’re facing off with an economic mercantilist. He doesn’t want to ‘rennegotiate’ CUSMA in a way that would benefit us. He just wants to renege, because that’s who Trump is. Deals with him are unreliable.

Fortunately in our case we have strong legal and political protections for the deal in place. He has to deal with his own Congress.

So no, there’s no reason for us to negotiate a new ‘deal’ on CUSMA, because there’s no advantageous deal to be had. Trump just wants out of his commitments and wants us to help him back out of them. Screw that.

Appeals to ‘renegotiate CUSMA’ with Trump are essentially an appeal to economic capitulation. Our best interest, as I’ve said from the start, remains in just ragging the puck and running the clock. What he wants will hurt Canada, but in this case he won’t get it if we don’t hand it over to him.

Bottom line, the USA GDP and overall economy is growing much faster and rapidly than ours.

Ours is contracting. or "technical recession". Remember when people here wanted to pretend it wasn't happening?

Ohhh, and those "increase jobs" in May/june? Mostly temp summer jobs and FIFA temp jobs.

Once again, people didn't listen to Pierre.
You're right.

I figure I don't really need to if you're going to puppet him here instead.

All kidding aside, I like talking to you armyrick, not PP by proxy.

If you want to say what Carney should do differently, do it. But don't assume I'm going to go out of my way to be up to date on what the MP from battlerivercrowfoot is up to on any given day.

Keep pretending Carney is doing just fine, and he can do nooooo wrong, guys. And continue to make things up about Pierre.

Its only our future at stake. See it or don't. Live in denial or don't.

I'm out for today, got work to do.

I have barely touched on what Pierre puts out pubicly. And the MSM/CPAC covers him frequently. Up to you.

I am out for real now.
