All Things AB Separatism (split fm Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???)

Really makes you wonder how many FN are in bad shape because of bad actors like this. Between 2 FN we are talking over 20+ million of unaccounted money
Not even a drop in the bucket for the money that passes through these places. Bands with less than ten thousand people have finances in the several hundred million. While it’s a gross industry it isn’t the reason they are in bad shape.

Not the only reason any way

Kind of a moot point, no?
Well yes and no, since EA was allowed to count but not certify by the courts. 57,000k signatures brings questions about the remainder, we have no answers if any seeded names were on the petition, etc. Faith in the entire process is in question, not to mention the small sample size for verification

I mean, we already have a question on whether or not to have a question.

Elections Alberta have confirmed none of the seeded names were on the petition.

I giess being a seppie in an RCAF town isnt conducive to good business outcomes. Just a little schadenfreude here.

So he ran a very successful business into the ground within 2 years of him purchasing it, by mixing it with his politics.

He closed the café, which had been a popular hub in Cold Lake since 1999, in late June and is now selling his assets to stay afloat. He said he bought the business from the previous owner in 2024.

Some might suggest this go in the FAFO thread.

If there was one, it could more respectfully go in a “Read the audience” thread.

There needs to be a reckoning for the grifters and traitors fuelling this when its all said and done. Find the foreign funding and interference and hammer their stooges in the courts.

One of two things should happen.

Hammer them as being traitors or smother them with apathy.

What we shouldn't do is treat them with any form of respect. They are not a political party, they don't have a single member of parliament or provincial legislature, they are a fringe joke of a movement and the last thing we need is to treat them on par with the Bloc and Parti Quebecois

Agreed they arent the bloc, and every provincial politician supporting them should be forced to run as a seperatist in the next provincial election

You don't cure a separatist movement by hunting them like wild dogs.

I understand the emotional reaction some people have to this, but when its said and done we need to look a building bridges and showing people why choosing Canada is the right choice.

The polls say Albertans already know why choosing Canada is the right choice. Are you proposing that the loudest Karen deserves a reward? That society should focus its efforts on appeasing the loudest minorities over addressing concerns of the majority?

Albertans don't need to pander to this fringe movement that seems to have taken over the provincial government and squandered resources into a separation initiative that nobody wanted and nobody voted for. And Albertans can hold to account a government that explicitly distanced itself from the idea during its election, and Albertans should also be able to hold to account any outside interference that funded & supported the project.

I am proposing that we don't create the fertile soil that will grow further separtist attempts out there.

Be graceful in victory.

Who is "we" coming from a guy with "Halifax" in his moniker, and why do you feel that non-separatist Albertans need to accord themselves with your vision of "we"?

I do believe this is a separation from Canada movement, no ? Halifax is a part of Canada, no ? We is Canadians at large, of which I am a part of that group.

Are you moving towards arguing that I as a Canadian citizen should not be able to have and voice an opinion on this matter ?
