Suppose Poilievre is fired tomorrow, then what? Whatever candidate steps up is going to have 3 years of character attacks, being compared to trump, and held to a much higher bar than Carney.
Who cares if Liberal supporters spend the next 3 years salivating over weekly polls watching the CPC drop.
It's not like a new party leader can force the LPC to start being transparent. Their supporters certainly aren't going to. At least with Poilievre playing attack dog there's an attempt at accountability.

But if the electorate don't view you as a holding them accountable, or as a government in waiting there is a problem. The messaging seems to indicate they are not doing a good job of it, otherwise they woukd likely be trending up not down. Part of their problem is they have MPs spreading misinformation on government bills rsther that actual critical analysis. You dont hold government accountable making things up.
