I read this person's social media post. Personally, if I were the mentioned individuals., I'd be hitting them with a libel lawsuit.

Who knows what actually happened? I know, having been staff at the School just prior to this, that investigations were taken incredibly seriously and that there is A LOT more that isn't released.

I kept detailed records of all my interactions with Cadets for this very reason..
Even had a Cadet tried to spew libel against me.... They thought they were really smart up until that point. If you are Staff at institution like RMC, particularly a Senior Officer, I would recommend keeping a lawyer on retainer.

CBC reporting that it took months for the MPs to seize and search electronic equipment from the alleged perpetrator, while the chain of command minimized the problem and failed to take administrative action.

It's almost as if they should do some kind of review of the military colleges that would result in sweeping recommendations regarding reform of some kind, to address issues exactly like this, that should be actioned immediately.

I have two solutions:

1) reinstate OCTP which takes you from civilian to qualified second lieutenant with a year of solid military training and no university component; and

2) have all ROTP education conducted at civilian universities.

RMC can then be repurposed (Never sell land). Greatly expanded signals and logistics training facilities would be my preferred choice.

I read her post as well. And I think that maybe you are full of it. And it demonstrates the issue with many of the officers that have come from there. CYA was always the name of the game. You had to make sure you had copious notes to back yourself up in case someone made a complaint about you. Did you ever reflect on why you had to do that? On why you felt that you would be singled out for complaints against you.

I was also a graduate from there. Many years before this incident, and can attest that I'm not surprised things like this happened. You know why? Because it happens at all institutions. The RMC population is a reflection of society as a whole, with the exception that we tend to jam a whole bunch of Type A personalities into a controlled environment where they're no longer the best and the brightest compared to their peers. It is the first time for many of them to be told they are only average compared to those around them. Which causes a whole other set of issues.

This comment has nothing to do with the RMC cadet in question, because I do not know that situation, at all.

With respect, there are a lot of batshit crazy or entitled people in the CAF right now and they are not afraid to weaponize the harassment, grievance or legal system when they are told things that they don’t like.

If you are a supervisor and do not keep good records on what you said to whom; why; and when- you are negligent. The CAF will not back you.

Your comment that a leader should reflect on their behaviour for keeping notes is a low blow and beneath your usual high standard of commentary here.

People make complaints all the time, about a wide variety of things. If you don't take notes on interactions you have with people when you're in a position of high-trust and authority, you're an idiot, full stop. Why do Police Officers wear body cameras and take detailed notes of the interactions they have with any member of the general public? It's no different.

There are valid complaints, there are also plenty of spurious complaints done with nefarious intentions.

As an Aviator working in a flight safety environment, I'm surprised you would take umbrage with someone taking detailed accounts of matters relating personnel and operations? Are you this cavalier with flight safety?

I no longer work for the CAF, I work in private industry. I could write a book 2 feet thick about all the grievances I have with the CAF or for any other institution I have worked for but that would be highly unproductive and quite frankly, unbecoming of an Officer.

Two of the gentlemen mentioned, I know and happened to have worked for personally. They were some of the best Officers I have met, are dedicated Fathers, Husbands, hardworking, and gentlemen. I consider the comments spurious and baseless.
