Guard rails are needed for sure, but my statement still stands, government or not if you deliberately lie with the intention of harming the public, or public interest. You should be held accountable in a court of law.

We rely too much on the courts. People around you who are habitual liars generally are isolated, mocked or simply ignored by their peers. Being alone is the ultimate punishment. When it comes to companies we have laws against false advertising which can cover most of their lies. That area is covered. I do believe that there should be consequences established for leadership that lies and not simply a slap on the wrist or a days suspension from the house either. I would be glad to support that bill but I am afraid policing it would be well nigh impossible. As for the internet, as long as what is written isn't slanderous or fitting under the umbrella of being malicious or threatening so what. The expression sticks and stones applies and again a habitual liar will find his followers dropping off one by one.

That's what technology does... When you buy the MS Office suite you get that capability tossed in, no need to hire a young person.

Ive never seen a generation as dedicated to pulling the ladder up behind them than boomers. My God, its like they try to misunderstand reality for the youth these days.

With grandchildren looking for summer jobs, nieces and nephews graduating university with no job prospects it is up close and personal with me. The point of the statement that Furniture objected to was not intended as a description but as a warning: if you aren't prepared to do the shit jobs you won't get a job. There is no starting at the top unless you are the son of the owner. Is that clear enough. I simply used tasks from my era (true) to describe it. I could just as easily have described doing dishes in a kitchen or washing the walls in the toilets in MacDonalds. Reality though is that a lot of kids don't know how to work because you, their parents, haven't insisted that they do any. Reality is they won't wash those walls instead they walk out. That is the royal you by the way applying to those with teenagers. The farms around me see it all the time and most have given up on local hiring unless they actually know the kid. But the issue that screws everything up for kids is reverse discrimination. If you aren't in a classified recognized grouping you suck hind tit.

Except you didn't use those examples, and didn't elaborate, making it seem more like when called-out, you shifted the goal posts.

As for farms, how many kids are there close enough to make the farm schedule work? Starting at 6 am is hard when you don't have a car, and you need a job to get a car. Ask me how I know... Then there is the reality that if the farmer says no to the 16 year old Canadian, they can hire a 30 year old Mexican with three kids, who will work like a slave to feed his kids.

When you were 16, if you had to compete against that on an industrial scale, you'd have also been unemployed. But lets pretend it's just kids these days.

But it's insidious. No time for relationships.no time for kids. No time to date. So now you have the law of unintended consequences.

Working all these hours and not only are you not getting ahead,but you don't have the spouse you need to actually get ahead. And God forbid you add kids to the mix.

You already see people getting married later, getting that first home later, trying to start a family later.

Humans, for all our individual aspects, perform largely the same way when given the same set of circumstances more often than not.

Run from fire. Hold breath underwater. Suffer in relationships when forced to work too much or are stuck with unsteady work.

And all around the world, France, England, Germany, USA, Japan, Korea, Canada, left, right, center, socialist, capitalist, everywhere and everything in between, we are seeing the same trends. Collapsing birth rates. Couples getting together later. Kids coming later in life, if at all. And generations starting to underperform the ones who came before.

It's like a drag net is being deployed en mass, globally, in every advanced economy, when it comes to millennials and gen Z. And it's not a surprise. Many people here have spoken of it. It's more like people just refuse to listen.
