Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

This is funny, but really, it shows Pierre needs to probably gut his communications team and start fresh. 18% was about where Trudeau was at when he resigned. How much lower before be becomes a liability to the party? He communication strategy is clearly failing hard here.

They need to add a Head of Lettuce and see where he lands comparatively.

Toronto-Montreal corridor trains are less than 10 years old so I don't think they are being considered for replacement at this time
I mis-stated (or you mis-read). Since this announcement is about locomotives only, I was wondering about the rest of the train they will be dragging around, and that has already been answered. The majority of VIA's long distance, regional and remote service rolling stock is 65-70 years old.

The new Siemens equipment for the 'corridor fleet' (Toronto-Ottawa-Montreal) is not quite four years old. The legacy fleet of LRC and Renaissance (bought used from the UK) are being phased out of service - slowly.

The Ocean fleet (Renaissance) was largely bought at a discount from Europe and is relatively young - barely 30 years old. Oddly enough, buying almost unused equipment from the UK had a lot of problems...

are they simply ignoring Bristol Aerospace's contributions with the Black Brant (my generation) or would it not be considered as full-spectrum? They built hundreds of them
Maybe they are talking hypersonics? NVD wants into the hypersonic game and is focusing there

I still maintain that the Liberals will lose support to the NDP. I see the Carney Liberals as too right wing for many of the softer NDP supporters that voted Liberal in 2025.

As always, it depends.

NDP voters kind of know that their guy won't be PM so their choice is Carney or Poilievre as their PM at the end of the day.

So NDP voters need to come to the internal calculus, who is better....or more accurately, who is worse?

This is where i see the CPC screwing up every time. Sure, carney may seem too right wing, but if the choice is the CPC guy who is EVEN more right wing, if it comes right down to it, the NDP voter will back the LPC.

What the CPC needs to do is create apathy in NDP voters. If NDP voters look at Carney and Poilievre and think, meh, they are both the same, whatever, they will vote NDP. If they look at Carney and Poilievre and think that Poilievre is the more extreme version of Carney, they will vote for Carney.

Well the numbers are in, and 3.4% is well above expectations. If the economy keeps rebounding at this rate, I dont think the opposition will have much to stand on to counter on the economic file.

A chance for long-sought-for accountability, or more chances to pick at the Justin Trudeau scab? Discuss :)
Supremes' decision also attached.

It will be intersting to see if this ruling has any impact on the upcoming SCC case opposing the ongoing firearms bans. In previous hearings, the Liberal GoC lawyers argued that the evidence used in the decisions to enact these bans were covered by Cabinet confidence and not subject to examination.
