The majority of videos I see are people inside Iran cheering the strikes, the majority wants to see the regime gone and have already paid in blood during the street protests. The 50,000 killed in a few days by the regime does not count the ones arrested or disappeared, which likley adds another...
I suspect the Kurds can get small arms already, not sure about the Balochs. There is already a network formed/forming of ethnic Persians, the questions remains to how best get them arms. Airdrop likley.
At this point arming the people is likley the best option, they don't need to much high tech, rifles, grenades, ammunition and RPG's, throw in some DJI drones as well.
Cuban exiles have a fairly strong influence in florida which is why the US Administration acts the way it does. As for "distorted Iranian exiles" I have 50,000 living near me and they have a very good idea of what is going on in Iran , now and before as there was a constant flow of people and...
With my daughter going back and forth over the border, this stuff weighs heavily on me. Thankfully she has the presence of mind to keep her social media presence and opinions to a minimum.
I look at the Israeli system where fringe parties can hold the government in blackmail to unpopular policies in order to maintain a coalition government. That is one my main concerns with proportional representation. right now for me the priority is to gut the power of the PMO and make the PM...
I don't get that vibe from them. Haiti is some weird 7th level of Dantes Hell. Yet the Dominican Republic on the same Island can basically keep the crap together. I don't think the Cubans will go full Capitalist, but will form some sort of democratic socialism with a health layer of free market...
There are a lot of Cubans that love the US and risked a lot to get there. If the regime finally collapses, those Cubans will be the ones to finance the rebirth of the country.
My guess is Trump is going to push to have Marines used and land somewhere, the Islands makes sense. If the Marine adopt in and out raids rather than hold, then yes the Iranians need to man some defenses near any of their remaining facilities.
Listening to the Ukrainians, it takes awhile to...
It will help and also within the realm of what you can do with a few thousand marine. Even if they just raid them and withdraw, it forces the IRGC to start setting up defenses or manning them along the coasts and that helps generates targets. We have a habit of overestimating our opponents...
Reducing their ability to observe and interfere. The islands have always been an issue and Iran uses them as part of their control network. Denying them the smaller Islands certainly helps to keep the Straits open. Really the bigger island of Qeshm would be ideal to wrestle from their control...
All fair comments, but if you want to clear the Straits, you will need to clear those islands, regardless of the fact that it is likely to cost some lives. Even if you clear and then depart, you made it difficult for them to use.
Just looking at GE, Greater, lesser Tunb Islands and Siri island all have airfields and small harbours. As does Abumusa Island. Grabbing some or all these island is well within the USMC capabilities and would remove them as observation bases and allow Himars to be stationed closer to Iran. I...
I don't think people realize how effed the Iranians were even before this war. the government was planning on abandoning Tehran due to the water shortage and big part of the problem is tied to their main historical backers, which is the agricultural landholders, who are very wasteful of the...
If the regime survives, they are not going to have anywhere near the funds to rebuild their arsenal. They are going to spend most of their monies in repressing the people and that is going to reduce the economy. Just repairing the day to day policing structure is going to keep them busy for years.
