So I am being told that Mess dues are due. The Mess is closed and wont be open for a long time. No one is working in the Mess. There is nothing being bought or used in the Mess. Is it right and can they ask for Mess dues?
Disciplinary? Where I work, the CICs dont give a damn about TI cards or even following the rules and nothing ever happens about it. Even leaving rifles, bolts and ammo in a cube van over night with no one around. It makes me sick. If things like that happend in the Reserves there would be...
Why not look at something like the British London Regt? It has had 4 or 5 Companies in its recent existence from the 90s and before that it was huge. They all have different cap badges but I am assuming one CO? Im pretty sure most reserve units could be run by a Captain given the numbers.
Until the Reserve system is "fixed" its really not worth embedding RCEME guys at a unit, there just isnt enough work. I am a Weapons Tech in a Reserve infantry unit, only because I have been there so long that they had positions when I got out of the Regs and went reserve. I work as a CQMS and...
I did a quick search and it seems there was an auction in the area a couple of weeks ago and there were surplus police car lights. Why, why would these be sold? They should just destroy them.
I have been a Wpns tech in the Army for 36 years in places like Germany and the Airborne in Petawawa. I am aware of what its like to follow orders but I was never taught to do it blindly. For some a**hat to arbitrarily say that sleeves need to be down, I would really like an explanation why. I...
Does anyone have an official document of where it says that sleeves can not be worn up? I assumed that on the new type it just wasnt possible but I still have some of the old ones and like them in the summer as I can roll up the sleeves. Now I am being told that I cant but no one has any proof...
"I interpret that part of the regulation to be "neatly trimmed, and shorter than the rest of the beard". Anything anyone does to go above and beyond that, such as actually shaving it three times a week is all well and good, but under no reasonable interpretation of what the regulation actually...
When my boss tells me to get my hair trimmed he means that I have to shave the back of my neck where the wispy hair is. This is the same meaning of trimming your beard. They dont want hair all the way down your neck. Seems pretty clear.
Just print out the regulation and leave it taped to the office door when he's not around. Or notify the cadet headquarters and I'm sure it will work its way down.

His own words. “I was thinking, ‘What should I do…?’ I didn’t know what to do. So I thought, I’m just going to throw this grenade and maybe just scare them away.”...
The new berets are a dark blue not a royal blue. I was helping out with RCEME when it was being worked on years ago and got a royal blue beret from the UK. It was declined at that time as costly but I guess when the Artillery got in on it it was worth it. The UK beret is a real blue, the new one...
So I have applied for a bunch of PS jobs over the last year and have not been successful. I applied to one in November and in April they asked for more information and a few weeks later I was told I didn't make the cut. It was a job that I had lots of experience in both in the Military and...
Yes Im ok with the Pipes and Drums wearing the kilt. What this discussion has developed from is RCN and RCAF guys wearing a kilt in mess dress with no authorization what so ever and no right to based on the traditions of the RCAF and RCN. If a Pipe band member wanted to wear a kilt in mess dress...
Remius, When the Black Watch was raised in the 1720s it was the only Regt in kilts and then the rest of the Regts of Higlanders were raised and eventualy all wore kilts. I think that this would make kilts "Army" The only kilts worn when the air force was raised were by Scottish officers seconded...
Why does the RCN and RCAF keep trying to steal Army stuff when you have your own traditional dress? If you want to wear a kilt then join a highland regt. Just because you have a Scottish background dosnt mean you get to wear what you want. There are dress Regs, so obey the damn things. Why...
