The shape is slightly different, but the ALICE frames are definitely more common these days. If you can, try snagging an ALICE waist belt, they tend to be a bit more comfy then using the old ruck pads.

The XL is a bit short on me at 6'7" (that's why I'm ordering a new one), but would fit anyone around 6' fine (the chest is around 48"). The jacket has zippered pockets behind each chest pocket, plus two zippered pockets in the interior chest.

I can't see the knee inserts being used too much by pers in the field, more likely in garrison by vehicle techs or anybody that takes a knee to get their job done.

As far as I know, there aren't any. But if you're tasked to an STA Bty then I can only assume you'll be given the appropriate courses.

I'll be honest, I was issued the CADPAT bivvy bag back on basic, and have only seen the green ones issued to people who required a temporary second one (ie, their rucksack is UAB). AFAIK the CADPAT bag is general issue but apparently still filtering down to some ASU's.

I don't know about the Jump Coy's, but my friend was on a recent course and they jumped with the new rucks.
