    Individual Learning Plans (ILP) [Merged]

The only folly here is everyone here deluding themselves acting like I'm some scumbag trying to destroy the foundations of the military while you guys are all Saints who have no concern for yourselves whatsoever and are better than those who use common sense in dealing with the situations we...

    Individual Learning Plans (ILP) [Merged]

It has nothing to do with ethics.  Signing the pay sheet for your buddy when he's not there is unethical - Checking to see if one particular rule in the sea of rules that may or may not be enforced is or isn't is not unethical given the circumstances. It's unfair for you to antagonize me for...

    Individual Learning Plans (ILP) [Merged]

Wow, God sorry for asking! I'm just wondering, because as we all know there are a million different little apparant rules and regulations within the big beauracracy of the Army that are sometimes enforced and othertimes skipped over without any seeming sense of regularity. I had never heard of...

    Individual Learning Plans (ILP) [Merged]

Hi there, I just had a quick question. I am a reservist and I'm going to university right now, I've received three tuition reimbursements of $2000 so far and I'm planning to put in for my last right away, but I had one concern. On one of the forms we sign when receiving this money, it has this...

Reserves being issues the C7A2 already?

lol why do some of these guys get so excited over getting a rifle which is only different in that it's green in a few places and has an adjustable buttstock.  I highly doubt it's going to change the face of the army as we know it. I don't know too much about this, with this upgrade did they do...

    Memo of absence

That sounds pretty harsh.  My unit normally they just have the little gather round half circle when the platoon commander or whoever reads off the names and asks if you're coming or not, and if you say you aren't they go "why not?" then you throw out  your excuse, they bust your balls a little...

Videos and clips featuring the Army

A bunch of those guys in the first video are reserves for a weapons tech course.  I recognize a bunch of them.  They're from the 25 or 22 service battalion, whichever one is in London, I can't remember.

    Promotions in the CAF [Merged]

Yeah I'm a little confused about how it all works myself.  I'm still officially a private, yet I've been getting paid Corporal wage for 4 months or so lol.

    The Capital Punishment Debate

I think the bottom line is, that if you want to consider yourselves a modern, progressive, civilized society, you can't sink to the level of killing people.  There are no logical arguments for having a death penalty, only emotional ones.  It doesn't deter crime, I don't think you really teach...

    Ruling against legislating morality

Who cares what other people want to do.  I agree this really is a non-issue. I'm going tonight.

    Clicking in collar bone area

Apparantly, unless you feel pain as well, clicking is not a big deal. Do lots of external rotator cuff exercises and focus on the back.  I've done way too much chest shit and now I've got baddd shoulder pain.  I gotta cheat big time when we do pushups lol.

Next reserve task force for LFCA - Does anyone know any details?

I'm in a Toronto area reserve infantry regiment and they've said that in January they're going to be taking names for the next task force.  I know the one preceding it is starting Pre-deployment training in Feb and deploying sometime in August.  Does anyone know any details about the next one? ...

Mefloquine (a.k.a Lariam) anti-malarial in CF use (merged)

Yeah I'm looking to put in for the next task force when they start taking names in January so I'm all nervous and spending a lot of time researching all these little details.  But you answered my question perfectly, thanks a lot guys.

Mefloquine (a.k.a Lariam) anti-malarial in CF use (merged)

I'm curious about other's who know this information.  I assume that personnel heading to Afghanistan would be given some sort of anti-malaria drug while they are there.  Does the CF force those going overseas to take mefloquine or known by the company name Lariam?  I'm asking because I've read...

    Regular physical fitness testing?

All I said is that there are a lot of people in poor physical condition in my unit and thats the truth.   And I'd be willing to bet it's a very similar situation across the board.  There are lots of guys at my unit who come out on most exes and work hard but are in poor shape when it comes to...

    Regular physical fitness testing?

Well but that is going to be a huge step requiring big reform but then it moves into the whole area of uncommited people being in the reserves.  A lot of guys are going to quit before they start doing PT 5 times a week on their own time right.  But this moves into the whole approach in...

    Regular physical fitness testing?

It would have to be a pretty low standard.  I know at my unit at least if they required something like all members to complete the BFT we'd probably lose half our people.  It's a sad fact but true.  It's hard to enforce a high phsyical standard in the reserves and right now the government wants...

Reservist Selection for tours (Needs changing?)

well I think a lot of this is just because they need more people than are volunteering.  I think they're being a bit over amibitious with the number of reservists they expect to volunteer to deploy.  In an ideal world they'd be able to pick only the most elite but if they want lots of...

Timeline for the next overseas task force?

I was told on the last parade night that starting in January they are going to begin taking names for the next task force, with the list being firmed up around March or so.  I'm infantry from 32 brigade.  So the task force right now is set to start predeployment training in Feb and deploy...

Italian desert combat uniform: Cadpat copycat?

First off, those hats are absolutely sweet.  Anything other than berets is cool, far too common.  And secondly, that chick cleaning the rifle is hot.
