Get her a tactical pen. No, that's not a joke.

Border agents spur suspicion at protest

As with everything in this line of work, my personal opinion is that it's fluid depending on the situation. If someone is yelling and screaming and carrying on, and I feel that giving them my name could be the trigger that de-escalates them, then I'll say it. If they continue to be belligerent...

National" Borders- Trouble at The Cornwall Crossing

It's good times for Law Enforcement(tongue in cheek), no shortage of crap to get into. CBSA's enforcement stats have skyrocketed since the move to the mainland.. and the RCMP clearly are chasing day and night.

"Kurdish music star may sue OPP after dramatic highway arrest"

I disagree with everything you just said. People are supposed to call the police when they see what appears to be a firearm being waved around. People seem to have given up their social responsibility, and will seldom phone in a suspected crime unless it directly affects them. As for cops...

"Kurdish music star may sue OPP after dramatic highway arrest"

And then we can turn around and tell idiots like this goofball to pound salt, as the police acted perfectly in response to a perceived threat to public safety.

    Pearson workers smuggled coke: Cops

Gotta love those improvements to the the Customs Act. Good work CBSA and RCMP.. hopefully we track them down... either way they are fucked.

    Street Racers

Everyone else is referring to the dumbasses in the first article, not the police officers that hit the pole. Impounding a police car is stupid. Yeah.. that's really in the public interest. The car is wrecked in that case, but I've seen it done at least one other time.. oooh.. one less car for...

National" Borders- Trouble at The Cornwall Crossing

Thanks to most for your support of CBSA. It was a decision made at the top, noone "abandoned" their post... by the sounds of some people on here, I wonder how they survive in / survived the military running around disobeying orders from brass, and staying in a fight when they are overwhelmed in...

    Military to CBSA

C-L did a great job giving you the info, I'd agree  noone can really give you a definitive answer on work hours. It will be variable shift, but who knows what format. Example, at my port alone, there are people on 5 on 2 off, 5 on 3 off (majority), and a 12hr traditional shift rotation.

    Military to CBSA

I'd offer a caveat to WR's advice, The hiring situation now, is a national hiring board, and if you want an indeterminate (ie full time)  BSO position, you will go where they ask you to go. In the past , where you applied is where you ended up, but I see this national process being the way of...

    Border Security?

Bobert, What I'm guessing you are talking about is in between ports of entry, because US Border Patrol tries to interdict inadmissble persons (illegal migrants, criminals etc) and contraband in between the US ports of entry. That's what CBSA is focussed on at all ports of entry, and it is...

    CBSA arming

Preaching to the choir. Doesn't help POERT is full of "facilitation" and seemingly avoiding taking charge of persons and situations at all costs.

    CBSA arming

:D Well client services has to scratch and claw for every budget dollar they can get, for fear of enforcement actually becoming the main priority, and not "client faciliation". Case in point, border wait times.

    CBSA arming

And the battle between client services and the enforcement branch continues.... ::)

CBSA Pilot to Catch Deportation No-Shows in Northern Ontario

Wait wait... did that article say "border cops"? That's a first from the media... In CBSA terms "Northern Ontario" also included the St.Lawerence river area, with the region  starting in Cobourg and going east to Cornwall in the south, and then all the way north to Iqaluit, as well as what you...

    CBSA arming

(Bit of a revival) But it's coming slowly... I dont know what your work location is (marine?) but there is a slow but gradual increase in all things enforcement oriented, including much more CBSA involved prosecutions, in some cases now just having the responding police agency hold the subject...

    TASER OPINIONS?

It's pretty simple... don't brandish a table at an innocent civilian.. don't pick up a stapler as a weapon of oppurtunity when the police are talking to you, and you won't have an intermediary device or worse used on you. I'm so tired of hearing the bullshit about 4 officers gang tackling him...
