2025 Federal Election - 28 Apr 25

That’s because PP is picking huge numbers of what normally would be NDP supporters in Hamilton - not Conservatives. Conservatives just don’t pull people from the Hamilton area, PP is not gaining from them Liberals, he’s pulling, at least in Hamilton, from the NDP. Not sure if you win seats that way. Very large number of NDP are shifting far right because of PP populist appeal. I would also put forward that a sizeable portion of previous NDP supporters have moved away from the NDP because of who their leader currently is.

Singh and Carney haven't been holding rallies with thousands in attendance.

Poliviere just held one in Hamilton with an estimated attendance reported at around 4,500. Singh held one at the same time in the same city and managed about 60 people including staff.

Poliviere's rally in Surrey estimated at 5,000. Toronto 2,500 and had to turn away hundreds due to capacity.

Shit, I have holdings in Brookfield through some mutual funds. Anyone with exposure to Canadian large cap equities does. Hell, I bet the CPP fund holds some meaning we literally all have some interest in it indirectly.
and I personally would love it if Carney was running the company: he is a good banker. I just don't want him running my country or at least not as a liberal ruining my country

Base enthusiasm isn't indicative of swing voters.

I know many of those number are already supporters. Many aren’t and have come to hear it right from the horses mouth. Probably because they doesn’t make it into the news. Most have made up their minds. Some haven’t.

All I'm trying to say is that his real life, see it live support seems to be at odds with the polls. In my looking anyway. Certainly compared to the 45 people that came out to hear Carney to his poll standings.

I'm sure the NDP will appreciate your support.
If Mike Chong was the CPC leader it would be a no brainer for me. PP does not have what it takes to lead this country at this particular time in my opinion. I do not see an individual who has the experience necessary to lead us during these times. If this was the time period of say 2016-2020 then yes, I’d say he’d be able to handle it. But doesn’t have the experience to draw upon to pull this off.

Carney needs to drop this guy.

GTA Liberal candidate apologizes for suggesting people claim China's bounty on Conservative

Paul Chiang — the Liberal candidate for Markham-Unionville — suggested during a local Chinese-language media news conference in January that people should claim the bounty on Joe Tay — currently running for the Conservatives in the Toronto riding of Don Valley North.

"To everyone here, you can claim the one-million-dollar bounty if you bring him to Toronto's Chinese consulate," Chiang said, according to the Toronto Association for Democracy in China (TADC).

Knives I get. That’s just being careful.

Confiscating MAGA hats? I wonder what those supporters feel about their freedom of expression being attacked lol.

The CPC policy is about making all public sector pension plans in line with the private sector.

If true, that would include emergency services.

OMERS is among the largest defined benefit pension plans and fund managers in the country. The OMERS Primary Pension Plan, which provides retirement benefits to local government workers in Ontario, is considered one of the best pension plans in Canada. It is accessible to employees of the province’s municipalities, local boards, and public utilities, as well as non-teaching school board staff. The Primary Plan can also be combined with the Canada Pension Plan.
A retirement compensation arrangement (RCA) is accessible to Primary Plan holders whose earnings exceed the maximum pension allowed.

OMERS also offers supplemental pension plans for police, firefighters, and paramedics.

Wonder if they would go after Sick Bank Gratuity, or leave that to the municipalities ?
