The liberals have changed leaders, not the way they operate. They are still out for their own gains and profit. Not Canada's.
The exact same could be said about the CPC, Andrew Sheer used party funds to pay for his kids private school and got a slap on the wrist. Having 70 shadow cabinet ministers seems more like milking tax payers then being serious. The liberals have changed leaders, not the way they operate. Within Europe, just about all countries are looking to increase their defence spending, although by varying amounts.
In Asia, China, India, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea are also planning major increases in defence spending.
Admittedly, in North America, the United States may actually reduce spending somewhat as President Trump seeks to draw back from commitments to Europe. But Canada (while it is still an independent country) is likely to join the Europeans in raising its defence spending. What are the implications for the economy?
It is well recognised that increased defence spending played a major role in dragging the world economy out of the Great Depression in the 1930s. This was particularly true in Germany, of course, but by the late 1930s the UK was also re-arming fast.
You have to be fair here.......hard to do as the opposition. How many ethics violations have the CPC had in the last nine years? How many billions of dollars have just up and disappeared under the CPC? How many scandals like WE, SNC, Green Fund fraud and bogus COVID contracts have beleaguered the CPC? How many times have the CPC invoked parliamentary privilege to hide documents from the RCMP that could conceivably put their members in prison? That is the true milking and deceiving of taxpayers and it's being done, shamelessly, by the liberals.
Something else that made me look twice. PP’s numbers have dropped 10 points in the riding since Trudeau stepped down. Numbers are still solid for him but trending down. This is against no one yet. No LPC candidate named as of yet.Yeah, the ‘big tent’ reach out to NDP and to Progressive Conseevatives is an interesting strategic move. I’m curious to see what kind of uptake he’ll get. I think we’ll see him pull LPC closer to the center overall.
Marjorie Lebreton left his riding association to work with the CFP. I wonder if she would be working to find a candidate to drop in there. Ouch.Putting a Blue Grit into Carleton would be a smart move on the LPC’s part.
I sure it wasn't for a lack of effort on their part. You have to be fair here.......hard to do as the opposition.

I don’t see her run but I see backing someone and organizing. I’d love to see the CFP (who I am still on the fence about backing) align with Carney.I have a lot of time for Lebreton. Since she’s no longer a Conservative Senator, she can join the LPC, if assume. She is probably the closest definition of a Red Tory/Blue Grit as you can get around here.
Isn’t Bruce Fanjoy the candidate for the riding? I thought he got picked quite a while ago?Something else that made me look twice. Is he? I guess I need to pay attention…lol.Isn’t Bruce Fanjoy the candidate for the riding? I thought he got picked quite a while ago?
Poilievre has nothing to worry about in terms of being reelected- but it is an interesting barometer.
Looks like he is. My bad. Doesn’t seem like a strong candidate but I guess I’ll have to look into him.Isn’t Bruce Fanjoy the candidate for the riding? I thought he got picked quite a while ago?

Also-ran. I doubt they ever considered there to be a point in actually contesting the riding.Looks like he is. My bad. Doesn’t seem like a strong candidate but I guess I’ll have to look into him.
Up until Trudeau resigned I hadn’t really considered voting LPC.
Put into a Blind trust for now apparently.Has Carney listed all his assets yet or are they remaining hidden for the time being?
Not sure. The requirement is to disclose assets to the ethics commissioner within 60 days of being sworn in; I haven’t seen whether that’s happened yet. I expect he has someone attending to it; it’s a routine process. He’s also required to transfer assets to arms length control or a blind trust within 120 days of being sworn in; he actually did that before the clock started ticking.Has Carney listed all his assets yet or are they remaining hidden for the time being?
