2025 Federal Election - 28 Apr 25

They stated they know they can’t win but they want to start a conversation. I hope it works.
Me too. It would if there was electoral reform that included some form of proportional representation.

Good.

Though their name recognition is lacking. Yesterday, during the poll worker training I attended, as we were discussing how we were to dress while working, specifically which colours to avoid, yellow was brought up and the question was asked if there was a party who used it in their identity. As individuals went through some of the parties who had candidates running in our riding, no one brought up the CFP until after the obscure and fringe players (like the Rhinoceros party) were eliminated. I mentioned the CFP then (I wasn't aware of them using yellow) but no one else in the room, including the trainer, had heard of the party.

Liberal platform is out, deficits till 2029 (predictable given the current situation) and specifically for the CAF, we are getting global eye not wedge tail.

How do Global Eye and Wedgetail compare in the role? Would we be undercutting ourselves going with the platform based on a Canadian airframe more is the technology comparable?

Liberal party has did an incredible job over the last 10 years of scaring Canadians. Go back and watch their ads from 2015. Conservatives bad scary racist homophobic abortion ar15s.

10 years later theyre still pushing it and thanks to Trump, that very clever strategy is being super charged. Conservatives are an election away from banning abortions after all, just look at the US!
It goes even further back than that with the 2008 "secret agenda" trope.

What's irritating to me is that every time the Liberals lose an election where this is their campaign strategy, none of the bad things they warned us about actually happen. Notwithstanding, voters continue to believe them.

You mean like the multi million dollar 'gardener's shed' we built for trudeau?
That has an elevator that goes underground...don't forget

Panic room? Access to an underground tram system?

(We'll never know, due to it being thrown under a pile of PERSEC reasons. Interesting use of money though, I'd forgotten all about it tbh...)

Reading the liberal defense plan, we would end up at 2.2% GDP in 2029, significant investment in capabilities and infrastructure while prioritizing made in canada, and canadian raw materials. Really wish they would of just released the PDF instead of this glitchy website

Deficits until 2029.

Isn't this the same bunch that promised just a few years of small deficits? Then went on to spend more than all PMs in Canadian history combined?

"Justin Trudeau says a Liberal government won't balance the books for three straight years but will double spending on infrastructure to jump-start economic growth.

The Liberal fiscal plan would see "a modest short-term deficit" of less than $10 billion for each of the first three years and then a balanced budget by the 2019-2020 fiscal year"

"The numbers don’t lie.

For example, from 2018 to 2023 Justin Trudeau recorded the six-highest levels of spending (on a per-person basis, after adjusting for inflation) in Canadian history, even after excluding emergency spending during the pandemic. For context, that means the Trudeau government spent more per person during those six years than the federal government spent during the Great Depression, both world wars and the height of the Global Financial Crisis in 2008-09"

"Justin Trudeau has added more debt than all other Prime Ministers combined and Canada’s federal debt for the 2023-24 fiscal year is projected to reach $1.22 trillion."
