2025 Federal Election - 28 Apr 25

If they think they are the best choice, they should run as independents.

Chandra Arya held his riding for almost 10 years. Obviously, he was the popular choice.

Then Carney booted him and took his riding for himself.

Karma would dictate, an independent Arya should beat Carney.

What sweet justice that would be. 🙂

Arya is hated by the majority of the Indian expat community now because of anti Sikh comments he has made. He would not do well if he stayed on.

More on why…

Sometimes you have to use your inside voice.

While she might feel personally slighted, I can understand his sentiment.

The Poly bandwagon is getting pretty old. They are trying to break Queen Victoria's grieving record. It's time to move on.

It’s also likely an indicator of how entrenched her victimhood status is that the CPC would prefer to sacrifice a candidate than have to engage with the LPC candidate as a non victim whose entire political existence is based on victim status.

She has no credibility as anything other than a victim but it’s impolite to say that out loud and it’s not a great political strategy. However you also can not challenge with reason or logic, as victimhood doesn’t recognize those as valid.

It’s an ugly no win situation for the CPC. Picket, bypass and ignore and defund once in government.

I didn't say they would.

I mean if she is a separatist then its reasonable to believe she would want the party in parliament that would most stoke that division which would be the LPC.
Believe me, the last person who wants the LPC to win the federal election is Danielle Smith!

She's been preaching publically any chance she can about how dangerous the LPC is to not just Alberta's economy but to the economy of the whole country, and Carney has just reinforced all of her very justifiable & reasonable fears...

IF Danielle Smith was a separatist then yes, rooting for the federal LPC to be elected again would serve her cause very well

Agreed

Rock and a hard place with this one. If the CPC drops him it could hurt some of PPs entrenched support. If they keep him, it will likely be part of an attack angle the CPC would rather avoid at this point.

There's also evidence in the chat that suggests that the two recently convicted individuals from the Ottawa convoy were both in the same chat, suggesting that they may have breached a no contact order.

The numbers the NDP is running confirms everything I’ve said about them being politically inept. I said Singh should bring down the government and go after the Liberals hammer and tongs. Ignore the Tories.

Had they brought down the government while Trudeau was leading, they may be running in second place now.

Had they focused their attacks on the Liberals, they could have dissuaded their softer supporters from voting Liberal. They were never going to vote Tory.

Instead, they propped up the government long enough for the Liberals to get a leader who gives an aura of competence. As well, they fear monger over the Tories, convincing their softer supporters to support the now competent-appearing Liberals because “scaryfascistTrumpConservstives”.

If a dummy like me can figure it out…

What happened? The link now goes to a different story that doesn’t explain why he was dumped.

This appears to be the exact same article word for word but the title changed. The LPC hasn't said anything publicly as to why, so it's just Chris Beach's word for now.

EDIT: @RangerRay I was too quick to post, the reason is...

"Former Burns Lake mayor Chris Beach formally introduced himself as the acclaimed Liberal candidate for Cariboo-Prince George on Friday, March 28 during a noon-hour event at downtown restaurant Betulla Burning."

"However, the Liberal Party of Canada does not currently recognize Beach as their candidate in the riding."

The party’s online list of candidates does not list Beach, nor any other nominees for Cariboo-Prince George or Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies as of Friday evening.

Seen anything suggesting whether that’s been publicly reported on? Could be really unfortunate timing for them on that given as how they’re now convicted and awaiting sentencing.

Thanks. When I clicked on it, I got a story about how the Liberals got all their candidates nominated and someone replaced Beach. Fun fact: you can fit all the members of the LPC in a phone booth!

It appears the federal parties now want nothing to do with anyone involved with the BC Liberals. Might be for the best…
