50 years from now...

...there still won't be any jetpacks or hover cars.

i wonder what people were thinking it would be like today 50 years ago

50 yrs from now, I'll be 98 yrs old! Hopefully relaxing in a lazy-boy leather chair in front of the TV, with a bottle of CC in one hand, and viagra in the other, and yes, with a 25 yr old gold digging blonde waiting in the bedroom.

Here's to hoping, ha!

You are going to keep her waiting?

Just to tease her, ha!

Meanwhile her father most likely has not even been born yet.

dear god... 50 years from now i'll be 76....  assuming we havent had some sort of massive war that has wiped out half of humanity....

I like to think we will have cured some of the diseases that are ravenging our planet now, and maybe we will have even learned how to get along a little bit better....

but probabbly not...

Sorry I miscalculated, I'll Be 66 in 50 years. I have 2 really annoying distractions sitting beside me.

Best hope that they never saw you say that then.

It is claimed that about 1/4 of what we know becomes obsolete in 5 years, so 50 years into the future is clearly far into the unknown. This observation is also similar to Freeman Dyson's observation that projects cannot be planned that take longer than five years to complete or begin, since the economic and political conditions will have changed to the point that the project is no longer feasible or economical.

50 years from now we'll have had at LEAST the first (possibly more!) manned expeditions to Mars, so long as something absolutely diabolical happens like WW3 and/or 4 to divert attention and resources away from that planet. I'll also be 77...  :crybaby:

And hopefully have ended up happily retired with at least some standard of living....
