A Deeply Fractured US

Minister Nahanni Fontaine of the Government of Manitoba made a statement about this. It was not well received by Wab Kinew
Sounds like a member of Premier K's cabinet may fall into this category ...
I think there are lots of people probably wishing they had sucked back and reloaded instead of punching keys in a state of gleeful hatred over the last few days.

Good people fuck up.
Still, NOT a good look - and she should be turfed from Cabinet, full stop. This from the Winnipeg Sun:

Still, good advice from @Halifax Tar re: engaging brain before hitting keys, no matter what the issue is or what political stripe you happen to be.

So there were inscriptions on the casings. One being "Hey fascist! Catch!".

Dude was definitely part of the 'tolerant left'.

I probably wouldn't use the inscriptions as a way to gauged his leanings. Most of them are memes/trolling. As for the earlier rumored "trans" inscriptions, the ammunition was manufactured by Turan Corporation which is denoted on the casings with a simple TRN.

"⬆️➡️⬇️⬇️⬇️"
(A reference to the code used to call in the 500kg bomb airstrike in Helldivers 2.)

"Notices bulge OWO 'What's this?'"

"If you read this you are gay LMAO"

I'm jaded.

I'm tired.

I don't care who in the USA gets shot these days.

That makes me come off as an asshole but it's not agaisnt the rules to be an asshole. I don't think I've broken any rule.

So why would I delete my post? Nobody needs to like it. But as long as the no mod tells me I'm breaking the rules, it can stay there as a reactions magnet.
TBH, I don’t care either except that I truly wish that nobody gets shot, stabbed, assaulted, persecuted, censored, cancelled, shamed, ridiculed, branded, beaten, banned, burned, fired, fined, terminated, isolated, labelled, cut off, litigated, ex communicated, falsely accused, slandered, libeled, sued or otherwise harmed.
But here we are, and some of those things listed above do sting and hurt more than a gunshot>> but usually don’t lead to immediate death on a college campus during a debate on the constitutionally unthinkable idea of limiting Free Speech.

We already are. How many times have conservative commentators been called Nazi, Fascist, homophobe, Islamaphobe, racist etc etc. Take a look at the comments from Canadians in the past including a former PM.

We don't shoot conservative commentators - but we do destroy their reputations.

Not much of an apology IMO. And its not the first time she's been seen as "self centered"

FBI and Kash Patel are taking some flak on all sides about how this whole thing was handled.

Maybe making Kash Patel FBI director, disbanding the domestic terror unit and purging the Bureau firing the Utah field office head recently for “reasons” was a bad idea…

FTFY

What happened to Charlie Kirk is absolutely terrible and should be denounced.

But the guy believed strongly in free speech. He 100% supported people saying whatever they want, and he said whatever he wanted including a lot of super controversial takes. From what I know about Charlie Kirk, he seems like one of the last people on earth to say "you can't say that" because he literally lived every day saying basically whatever he wanted without boundaries, and allowing people to say to him whatever they wanted without boundaries. There's 1700+ youtube videos of him and the people he was debating saying some really spicy stuff to each other, only watched a couple to get some context of who this dude was.

Godwin's Law is a real thing. When people start arguing politics, regardless of Left or Right, there is a remarkable tendency for them to resort to a Nazi or Hitler analogy. It's laughable to think that only one side of the political spectrum resorts to reductio ad Hitlerum. I've heard both Left leaning and Right leaning people get frustrated and pull this card for literally decades, it was a thing long before MAGA and will continue happen probably for another hundred years or much longer.

The internet is already full of comparisons between Charlie Kirk and Horst Wessel by all sides. I'm not surprised at all, even though that's a very complicated comparison, and there are likely a lot of other assassinations throughout history that could be considered closer to what happened. I think this kind of speaks more about how our culture tends to have a really collective interest in the nazi period and second world war, as pretty much anyone even with the most basic understanding of history knows something about this period so it's an easy thing to debate, comes up all the time, and is used to build a case agains the other side, literally all the time, by all political sides.

On a related note, let's take a moment to laugh at the fact every workplace across the CAF has "that guy" who compares everything to the Second World War and thinks they are a genius for seeing what the others don't see, because they "know history" there's probably great meme potential here...

Good Post!⬆️

Astonishing security failure...

I will say that, as a guy who planned security operations, your day one guy expectation is to stand where your principal will be- Take a look at your sight lines, shadows, buildings- and then if you have something like that bloody roof you stick a guy over there. Like it doesn’t need to be complicated- a single guy at the elevation in the sightline will put eyes on all your roofs and be a deterrent.

His security appears to be configured for physical threats and extraction. But your have to have that CS element of even one uniform guy you borrow in a pinch to cut off the best shot.
