I don't see how they could have ruled it anything else...
Renee Good had 0 bullets/GSWs in her body pre-mortem and had 3 bullets/GSWs in her body post-mortem.
Apart from some weird medical condition I haven't heard of, someone else put those bullets/GSWs there in the time in-between, making it some form of homicide. The fact that it was a federal agent putting those bullets/GSWs makes little difference medically.
Now if it's manslaughter/murder to what degree... that's the sticking point.

To expand, the choices typically enumerated are "natural causes, accident/misadventure, suicide, homicide, and undetermined/other". Maybe the particular ME in question has more or different, but obviously it wasn't natural, accidental, or suicide. It'd be a stretch to pretend it should be "other".
Looks like Bovino is being sidelined and has had his social media account suspended.

Sounds like a soft firing to me... "You screwed up and embarrassed us. Thank you for your services and we recommend you contemplate enjoying your retirement. Soon."
Statistically, ICE now has a higher rate of homicide than immigrants, legal or illegal in the US. If this keeps up, they'll be racking up more kills than some organized crime groups. They've already killed two in January. And with a force of 22 000, that works out to a rate of 9 per 100 000. And it's only January. The US national homicide rate is 4 per 100 000.
There's people who will defend this to the end. That's what culture warriors do. But hell even Trump is walking this back. Even he knows it's not good optics for all these guys to be killing middle class white folks and then talking like gun control justifying liberals about carrying guns.
They were supposed to harass and kill brown people. Not middle class white folks like a VA nurse. But that's what happens when you give a badge and gun to some dude with 47 days of training.

I am certain he has been added to the list - which is no doubt very long - of people that will get an autopen-signed pardon before Trump leaves office sometime in the next 1 month to three years

Oh I understand that fully.
I am certain there are quite a few apparatuses, mostly criminal, that will make that pardon worthless.
