All Things AB Separatism (split fm Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???)

I have no idea how social media algorithms work, but I have to believe there is external influence at work. My FB feed is full of pro-separatist posts and video clips. I click, comment or 'like' none of them, but they keep showing up.

Have you clicked on any ads for Truck Nuts lately?

@MilEME09 did you notice anything else that wasn't mentioned yet?

It's by design.

You could set up X and Facebook accounts for example solely for a specific hobby and with no interactions outside of said hobby on a browser with no cookies and you'll still end up getting force fed that stuff like that, and VPN's will only switch it to the exact same stuff relevant to the location that the server is based.

Not eligible to vote in their elections. But, my mother, sister her husband and their family live in AB.

So, had a look at 338Canada

QA6. Supposing Alberta does hold a referendum on secession, would you vote for your province to leave Canada or stay?

Thats because its a Yank psyop.
Alberta seperatist are actively meeting with members of of Trump's cabinet.

They are not even trying to hide it.

And for some reason, that's perfectly legal to do in Canada. The logan act makes that illegal to do in the US

Have we found something you admire about the US?

What is super interesting is the difference between the Quebec love sessions vs the Alberta treason. For the same outcome.

I think that might only fuel the Alberta part a little more.

The ! on the site shows they are using a VPN now, but not before if the other screen shot is accurate.

X made a blanket change when this feature really blew up, now all accounts will show that symbol. VPN or not.

The original symbol for a VPN user account was an "!" bordered by a shield.

A very convenient change.

This seems like the appropriate place for this very timely article for the above discussion.

I wonder if we'd have seen something similar if it happened during Brexit.

Or perhaps if certain other countries were to suddenly cut themselves off now.

Industry publication UK Defence Journal, which has tracked the accounts for months, said that multiple X accounts claiming to be supporters of Scottish independence have ceased activity.

One such account, known as ‘Fiona’, has not posted since Thursday.

Same thing happened when Israel and the USA were bombing Iran.

The amount of bad actors on Twitter looking to destabilize the west and we in the west just allow it

I suspect we had very different experiences when it came to the Quebec seperation issue.

And no. It was far from love ins and butterflies. It was most times very acrimonious and yes labels of treason were used quite a bit.

There was a charm offensive in 1995. I attended the Montreal rally. That was much more about a united Canada than a Quebec love session.

I hold all seperatists with the same level of contempt. Alberta or Quebec.
