Army Reserve Restructuring

Its unfortunate we have little option for expanding because we got rid of so many facilities. Cornwalis would of been a good asset, they are also running BMQs out of wainwright and borden but on a much smaller scale. To increase it, like everything else we would need to vastly scale up infrastructure just to get everything ready as we scale up instructors.
There's always the cadet camp in Vernon.

:giggle:

Cadet camps really could be turned into CFS's with enough investment to modernize them
CRPTC cadet camp would only be seasonal but they really need to invest in a building there that could be used for BMQs.

But that would likely suck in even more reservists into long term class B…

Well, the lack of winterization for one
Blackdown is another one. I've been staff on multiple weekend BMQs that have stayed in those tents/shelters without heat.

I remember on workup for the G20 someone in leadership got annoyed that troops hanging out in the heated bathrooms that direction came down that we were not allowed to set foot in the bathroom unless we actually had to go. (Some of the memories from back in the day really illustrate how weird out priorities are at times).

I've been wondering if the CAF growth (if it actually occurs) will see the cadet program suffer. For example, fewer summer opportunities because some cadet camps need to be converted for BMQ or other courses. Obviously BMQ and other training will always take priority over anything cadet related, but it would be interesting to see how it effected the cadets as a recruiting tool.
