Good day to all of you, this is my first post on these boards!

I have two questions

1 - I am going to be changing Banks (changing to BMO, for obvious reasons), I would like to know how I should proceed to have my cheque deposited in my new account.

2- I would also like to know where I would be able to look up how many days of leave I have accumulated/available.

Cheers

I should think both can be done quickly through your OR

If you have cheques for your new account, bring one in to your OR.  Make sure you change the deposit information for your regular pay as well as for any claims.  Wait until paymetns have gone in to the new account before closing the old one.

For leave, you can use EMAA.  Go to the CMP homepage; there's a link on the left hand side to EMAA - the Employee Member Access Application.

If "obvious reasons" means the Defence Banking Program, make sure you really research whether the supposed benefits are not available at other, more popular banks. Reason being, (and this could be the case elsewhere) the nearest BMO branch to Cold Lake is 1.5 hours away in Lloydminster and I don't believe we have a BMO ATM either. (We have Scotia, CIBC, TD, and RBC) The BMO staff, after setting up the CDBC progream, would work out of the MFRC kiosk twice a week from 10-3. After a year of very low usage by people posted here, they are shutting the place down. I heard the ATM is getting taken away as well. I noticed when I used BMO as a civilian they have much lower numbers of branches and machines than the other 4.
I can only speak for myself using TD for the last 10 years, but I didn't notice any benefit to the "Defence program" not already in my TD services that was worth changing tonnes of pre-authourized payments for. I contemplated the new service but glad I didn't now that it's shut down. With bank cards, electronic/e-bill payments, internet banking, I've kept my "home branch" in Winnipeg my entire career, have an RRSP that I opened in Kingston that was easily transferred to the home branch, and really only go to the teller to withdraw US funds. Just something to think about.

Just my  :2c: (or 5 c, since there are no pennies :) )

After a few not too favourable experiences with BMO, I now avoid that Bank like the plague.

List includes:

Service charging a small account into oblivion;
Poor customer service;
Leaking customer information to CFB Petawawa Pay Office; and the clincher
Closing CFB Petawawa branch while I was overseas and moving my account to another branch without notifying me.
