Blackhawk Tactical Gear (Winnipeg?)

Well, you have to specify wether you want Canadian manufacturers or providers.

Personally, I've been to both Steve's (Riggermade) and Derek's (Medtech) shops. The quality is good for both, they have actual cadpat material, and they can both make something custom up for you. They also can take a look at an existing item you want, and mimick it, or even add-on to the design, making it better, or more geared to what you want. Steve's is smaller, but I've seen the work he puts into his kit, and it's good. Derek's ICE is bigger, but the timeframe, what with orders would be about the same.

CPGear has also gone up.

If you want providers of existing companies, I know Dave's, oneshot, and CPgear are all well set up, and provide a good service. If you're in the Petawawa/Pembroke area, SmithTac can acquire equipment for you, and Jeff Smith will generally give a good deal for deploying troops. I'm pretty sure Steve here will back me up on that.

I hate picking one over the other, but I'm a pretty big kit-slut, so I'm sure I'll go from one manufacturer to the other, but I'll stay Canadian myself.

My  question is why Blackhawk?? All of their tactical "nylon" is made offshore and has some quality control issues, companies such as TAG,HSGI,ICE,CPGear, etc are all made right here in N America to a high standard of quality.Canadian dealers have some of the best price deals for deploying troops and usually have the item in stock. No customs fees (they buy in bulk and spread the cost or make the kit in Canada), faster shipping, etc.
Some companies that don't specialize in gear such as Smith tac for example will have longer wait times, but at least the cash is staying in Canada.
Whatever it's your cash but an more informed approach would have saved you time and money by buying a Canadian made or distributed project.

As for all the suggestions, most of the Canadian vendors were at a little gathering know as the SHOT Show :)

^ What's done is done, do I regret getting BH, no Edit: and if I am not satisfied with the gears quality and durability, I'll be the first to post here for my helping of crow.   ;)
Seems like a lot of people are just getting wrapped around the axles because I purchased from a non Canadian manufacturer/distributor.  ::)

If one was to look back at my posts, it would seem that most of the cash did stay in Canada. (over $866 worth!), that's including the quad rail system, mag pulls, and fore grip that I just purchased from - drum roll please..........Wolverine Supplies.  :o

Naw, I don't think we're bent around em axles because you didn't go Canadian.

I think were just a little enthusiastic in answering your question about Canadian gear makers and distributor's that's all.

Short and sweet, I have found ony one supplier in Winnipeg that carries BH gear (http://www.corporatesupply.ca/clothing_division.htm), they do not have the item that I am looking for in stock (https://www.blackhawk.com/product1.asp?P=30HH02DE) and by the time they do get it in stock I, well...I'll be "out of the area".

Does anyone know of any other places in Winnipeg (or within the surrounding area, 50km) that carries BH gear?

Please, don't suggest anything else, I'm just looking for BH in Winnipeg or surrounding area.

Thank-You

Edit: Subject Line

I don't think anyone is wrapped because you didn't go Canadian...your first post made it pretty clear you were bent on having a BH vest...I don't know how much you searched but it is pretty clear that in the last few years BH has gone way down hill...I am not saying that because I manufacture stuff either, I used to be a believer in BH but since they moved their manufacturing to Vietnam they produce crap...keeps me in lots of work doing repairs though

... Blackhawk is crap - well marketed, but generally speaking, crap all the same...

Well, the gear (LRAK) seems to holding up just fine, its still early though so, I'm hoping it will last the whole tour, I can't see why it wouldn't though. Stiching is great, material is good to go and best of all...it works for what I want/have to carry!

The 5.11 72hr RUSH seems to be holding its own as well, although I've yet to have to put it through its paces while dismounted for any great length of time.
