We have all heard a million times that you can not run in combat boots; I am looking for an actual directive or order that states this.  I have looked in CFAOs, LFCOs and DOADs with no luck.  A friend of mine is looking for it as part of his appeal to his release.

It's a CANFORGEN from about 5 or 6 years ago.

Based on this conversation:  http://forums.milnet.ca/forums/threads/26691/post-169822.html#msg169822 the CANFORGEN you seek was issued in late '04 or early '05.

Thanks to Roy and Haggis for pointing me in the right direction I found the reference, it is in CANLANDGEN 006/98.

CANLANDGEN 006

CANLANDGEN 006/98
SUBJ: CONDUCT OF RUNNING IN COMBAT BOOTS
REF: LFCO 24-2
1. COMBAT BOOTS ARE DESIGNED FOR WALKING, NOT RUNNING. THE ROUTINE
CONDUCT OF RUNNING IN COMBAT BOOTS, PARTICULARLY FOR LONG PERIODS
OR DISTANCES, IS CONSIDERED TO INCREASE THE LIKELIHOOD OF LOWER BODY
INJURIES. CONSEQUENTLY, I AM DIRECTING THAT RUNNING IN COMBAT BOOTS,
AS PART OF PHYSICAL FITNESS TRG, WILL CEASE IMMEDIATELY. THIS
DIRECTION SHOULD NOT BE INTERPRETED AS PRECLUDING THE WEARING OF
COMBAT BOOTS FOR ROUTE MARCHES, WHEN SUCH MARCHES ARE
INCORPORATED INTO FITNESS PROGRAMMES
2. FURTHER GUIDANCE ON STANDARDIZED PHYSICAL FITNESS TRG ACTIVITIES
AND PROGRAMMES FOR LFC UNITS WILL BE DEVELOPED BY DAT AND ISSUED
ASAP AS PART OF THE REF.

I will add the DIN search sucks.
