British Columbia NDP Majority Government 2024-(no later than) 2029

Meanwhile, adding to the natives versus property rights debate

The old act used to require actual relics to be found to trigger the act. Ebty's new act just requires a native to say her ancestor told her that a site was sacred to stop development.

How soon before Eby and the natives run out of road and lose the consent of the governed?
Does there come a time when the federal government steps in and imposes solutions?

hasn't happened as far as I know. I don't even know if it is possible under our constitution. It certainly didn't stop Quebec from taking a separation vote and that to me would be the ultimate reason for stepping in.

If the locals don't recognise themselves as being subject to Canadian law then they probably don't recognize BC law. in any event, if they are not Canadians then they are foreigners. Only the Federal government has the authority with foreigners. It may choose to not recognize them. Equally, if they are not Canadians, and thus not bound by Canadian law then they are also not entitled to Canadian benefits.

Also, it would remain open for Canada to decide which of those sovereign nations it chose to recognize. Who was offering the best deal.

Stop all federal and provincial funding. They are a nation and they can go it alone.
