British Military Current Events

I’m not sure if the British MoD can demand that GD deliver a working functional vehicle (apparently that wasn’t specified in the contract), so here is their defence Minister floating the idea of scrapping the Ajax vehicle instead. The numbers here are low, maybe 6-700. I have to wonder if they’ll just go back and refurbish Warrior again as an urgent interim.

Or they could do what we should have done with the TAPV.
Kill all the mods and strip the project back to the parent vehicle.
At least for all the hulls already built.
Even if they were reduced to turretless APCs for reserve or logistics roles.

Go get 'em, boys!

UK and Norway form naval alliance to hunt Russian submarines

The UK and Norway have signed a defence pact that will see them operate a combined fleet to hunt Russian submarines in the North Atlantic.

The deal is designed to protect undersea cables - which British officials say are increasingly under threat from Moscow, with a 30% rise in Russian vessels spotted in UK waters over the past two years, according to the Ministry of Defence (MoD).

Under the agreement, the navies from the two Nato members will operate a fleet of British-built Type-26 frigates.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the agreement "historic", saying it strengthened the UK's ability to protect critical infrastructure.
