Foreign interference? The way I see it, that’s a pretty benign description by the government.. Am I wrong or does it suggest that the person being arrested is less guilty than the foreign entity trying to get an advantage over Canada? To me, it’s about spying. It’s about betrayal. It’s about warfare by other means. And if what I have just said doesn’t apply to the person being arrested, then maybe he shouldn’t have even charged at all. In other words, call a spade a spade and don’t sugarcoat it.

If the charges are related to their current position, I suspect they've given up information on people rather than ops. Or even acted on a foreign government's information/persuasion to nullify a clearance. There's more than selling secrets that's dangerous here.

The nature of the charges suggests that the trial may be informed by that of Cameron Ortiz, with proceedings in camera and limited information released to the public, after vetting by security officials and both Crown and defence counsel.

Given the nature of the charges, I wonder if there is a lot more to the story. I'm looking forward to hearing more as this unfolds.

Oh I can almost guarantee you that there's more to the story. Almost always is.

Whatever gets put in the disclosure file & discussed in open court will be pretty mindful to not directly or indirectly say anything that could compromise investigative techniques, intelligence sources, imvolvement of specific foreign intelligence services, etc etc

For sure. I'm most curious about the alleged malingering, myself, given that (I suspect) that's a pretty rare charge - not to mention it stands out like the turd in a punchbowl full of other security charges.

There should be correspondence from DMCA on the RM. If he was given an RW, I highly doubt "you know what you did" was the totality of the interview.
