In slightly more positive news the first RBS 70NGs arrived last week. I got to see their demo and have some conversations with the TC. Awesome system for VSHORAD and it’ll be even better when it’s mounted.

IIRC, C Sqn is rolling back to Cav/Recce with all the tanks sitting in LdSH now.

Correct, the strats are now our sole tank regiment officially, so every roto to Latvia they will supply the squadron.

In Latvia the Mn Arty BN has them as part of the AD Battery along side Italian stingers and some radar assets.

We're at the point the Strats are training reservists as tankers. They're gonna be absolutely tapped now with the RCD and 12 RBC. Honestly they should rebadge all the goons and 12RBC dudes with tank quals as strats and fill 100% of the regiment.

I agree but I'm talking the Army we have, not the Army we want. I'm pretty discouraged by no mention of AFVs or tanks in defence platforms.

Just depress the SPG guns and use them as direct fire. I did it in World of Tanks all the time.

Probably because the mentioned projects are already mature. Additional LAVs is an easy sole source buy, tanks? I know here is long term plans but maybe if we are increasing the budget as much as they say, tanks will be on the army's agenda
