CAN-USA Tariff Strife (split from various pol threads)

Is the bottling move only for the American market or will they distill up here, ship it south, bottle it, then ship sellable bottles back up?
We send seafood across the Pacific to be processed in Asia and shipped back to Canada. Why not bulk liquor to the US?

He and everyone with a pulse knows exactly why. 🤡

Interesting comments by him yesterday about Canada following the US on tariffs on Chinese EV's considering that news that we might drop said tariffs on Chinese EV's. A bit of a cat and mouse game going on here.

Off to Mexico this morning.

The Snowbird Summit ;)

homer simpson episode 6 GIF

Canadians of various origins and motivations moving large quantities of Meths from Vancouver for Sino-Mexican traders.

But we don't have a drugs problem. There is no reason for the US to pay special attention to us.

Nice car industry you got there - shame if anything ever happened to it …

On the Ontario Reagan ad, survey says ....

So we can expect to see US and Chinese ads assisting us in understanding the issues during our next election.

what's so very sad and plainly laid out by this ad is the current state of disarray and inertia that is affecting the Democrats in the US today. I mean, it really truly does seem like Ontario and the Government of Canada is really the only ones standing up for the 'ordinary' American at this point. The Democrats should be picking up on Ontario's ad and running variations of it throughout all of the US pointing out Reagan and the Republican parties past stand against Tariffs. The fact that they haven't been and more than likely won't be speaks volumes on the capitulation that exists in America today.

Anyone could have been making efforts to educate Americans about the impacts of import tariffs even before the election result (pointing out the flaws in campaign promises is pretty common dog campaigning). A bit late now.

People usually don't contest an exercise of political power they plan to use themselves one day.

That is a very interesting observation. I need to think that one over a bit.

The Dems are completely traumatized by the Clinton/Biden/KH debacle and fear of Bernie and ilk taking over, this has paralyzed them for now. They need a new, strong centre left candidate with minimal baggage to rally the troops around.
Bernie and ilk have taken over the DNC, probably 2 years ago… I’m not sure Gavin Newsom can displace them.

Make that a strong centre-right candidate.

That is what is happening in Europe. Social Democrat parties in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and the Netherlands are taking much harder lines on immigration and becoming distinctly more nationalist.

The Globalist/Internationalist factions are having to take a back seat for now, along with the Environmental lobby.

People want cheap energy.

Including people like Bill Gates who has just discovered that he can't power his AI server dreams with sun and wind.
