Does anyone have a decent understanding of Spanish and have any idea how this all is being reported in Mexico over the last 3 days?
Are they laughing at us or are they preparing for their turn in all this.

Or, export tariffs on the USA. Send every dollar to the oil companies.Canada supplies 57-60% of US oil imports. We don't have to shut down our supply, but if we were to enter a "maintenance cycle" for the next eight weeks, that might reduce our output.
And that is why North West Ontario feels so alienated from Queen's Park.
You can bet Mexico has been mapping the contours of the ditches. What’s more, Trump appears to enjoy Sheinbaum. Carney, not so much.Does anyone have a decent understanding of Spanish and have any idea how this all is being reported in Mexico over the last 3 days?

How U.S.-Canada Tariff Negotiations Turned Into an All-Out Trade War
Detailed accounts of the final hours of the negotiations show that, while the United States offered Canada what it said was the best deal of any country, what Canada had to give up in exchange was seen as unthinkable.www.nytimes.com
Still speculation on what went on in the dying hours.
I doubt we'll ever know.
Let him bluster and rage. It just reinforces our position at home, in the US (amongst the 60% of Americans that arent brainlets) and abroad. We're just getting trolled now..
What a child.Let him bluster and rage. It just reinforces our position at home, in the US (amongst the 60% of Americans that arent brainlets) and abroad.
I disagree. We should show the world that we're the professionals. We're on message. That we are confident we'll win. It helps our brand in the States and abroad. That said, some more jabs at Donald to really make him look dumb might be warranted. What a child.
We should get Dougie Ford to just announce that effective immediately that the Michigan UP is now Canadian territory and we're putting tolls on the Mackinac Bridge and the new US/Canadian border is now at 45N. If Trump can make unilateral idiotic statements about territory we can unleash Dougie or Wab to launch the trolling war!
Tell him he can rename it, if he can find it on a map without helpI disagree. We should show the world that we're the professionals. We're on message. That we are confident we'll win. "Did Natalie suggest that, Donnie?"

When you stop looking at this from a benefiting America stance and start looking at it from a benefiting Trump stance things make a lot more sense. So he's aware of how incredibly unwise a lot of his tariffs are.
Unfortunately for him aluminum can't be piped to bypass the mess he's created over in the middle east.

I chose to believe he is the Manchurian Candidate - destroying the US and NATO, while strengthening our enemies. When you stop looking at this from a benefiting America stance and start looking at it from a benefiting Trump stance things make a lot more sense.
My personal belief is that Trump is pissed with America for almost jailing him, and like a vindictive narcissist he is determined to burn down everything else around him well profiting.
Tariffs? Him and all his buddies make a ton of money from them (especially by manipulating the stock market) even if they screw the American public. Even if they are found illegal and the government has to refund the cash it goes to the corporations not the individuals who paid the higher prices. All funded by the American taxpayer who aren’t the richest Americans anymore.
I listen to that podcast and then the news broke that the deal fell apart. I was like that aged like milk.I was listening to The Line yesterday - their show from Friday when we were all expecting deal details within hours and it hadn’t blown up yet. Matt Gurney reminded that nearly a year ago they asked Trump supporters to write in with what would be their ‘line in the sand’ to stop supporting Trump.
Personally I think thats ascribing malice when stupidity suffices. Idiots are abundant everywhere but in US anti-intellectual culture its almost celebrated, ie the rugged individual saying "professionals be damned" and striking it out on their own. My realization in all this after watching two years of self-immolation is that 40-45% of Americans are braindead and probably beyond saving. Theyre comfortable with banana republic corruption, tin pot dictator proclamations and Orwellian Newspeak.I chose to believe he is the Manchurian Candidate - destroying the US and NATO, while strengthening our enemies.

Looking forward to the next iteration that's for sure
