That will likley kill any SK deal, unless SK is willing to loan at lower rates.

Probably be a mix but the big thing is getting our companies in as allowed buyers for the euro program too. If we can get Rochel selling senators across Europe for example that would be huge

Getting our defence industry to expand is definitely a feature.

Here's a fun fact, the F550 has a payload capacity around 12,000kg. The footprint is too small but it would be pretty funny seeing that giant turret strapped to a truck Hilux style hahaha.

I dont know how a F550 could take 12000kg. I regularly ran 7700kg gross and pretty sure the road limit was 8700kg. I would hate to see it with another 8000kgs on it

I was under the distinct impression that one of the reasons the TAPV was selected was because it finally gave reserve units their own modern armoured vehicles to train on - complete with a RWS w/ great optics & modern weapons (ie C-16)

One of the reasons it received so much praise (at first anyway, from official sources) was because reserve units were supposed to be able to maintain the vehicles with the resources they had available & local commercial means...yet from everything I have heard the vehicles have ended up being hanger queens & out of service

So when @MilEME09 commented how even the ARes could use the vehicle being discussed above, I was trying to point out that they already tried to procure a vehicle like that...the TAPV



(I was mistaken though. I've just read a few articles about the TAPV, and I think I got my wires crossed at the time because of the distinct mention that 108 of them were being "diverted for reserve training" - and when combined with some videos coming out at the time by some reserve units, my brain just mushed it all together...)

Probably would of been fine if we had the spare parts. The CDSG dets are more than capable of supporting the work, but the hangers queens sit there waiting for parts. The fault is squarely on the manufacturer who just recently finally admitted the fire and brake issues were infact not user training problems and have committed to fixing the problem.

Better yet, get some money back or cut losses and buy an actual afv

Well thats great news!

I knew they were prone to rollovers when at speed, and I strongly suspected they would have serious break issues shortly after seeing some of the first ones arrive in Edmonton. (Or rather hearing them arrive as their drivers brought them to a halt...holy squeaky breaks batman)

I was unaware of the fire issue.


I'm glad to hear their manufacturer has admitted fault & has committed to fixing the issue.

500 more armoured vehicles with a decent RWS in the inventory, in good working condition, isn't hurting my feelings...

(Even if it was/is a vehicle searching for a mission, I'm sure we'll find one for it)

No. The reserves were never supposed to have gotten the vehicle but, after contract was already awarded, the largest pool of Reg F recipients declared they did not want anything to do with the vehicle.

You’d be much better suited to GDLS-C being able to sell LAV variants over Europe than Rochel pushing Ford 550 conversions.

What makes it sub par? It's not a IFV for front line use. The videos out if Ukraine basically sell the vehicle it self, mine strikes, drone strikes, losing a wheel and keeps going to evacuation the crew. The list goes on, in the quest for the 100% solution we created beats that are so expensive that we dont want to order enough. Vehicles that we cannot scale in war time if needed. The senator is the 85% solution we need, nothing I've seen makes it sub par for its intended role. Even your post you say a LAV is better, both are two seperate roles, and trying to get a LAV into a market dominated by CV90 and Lynx will likely be difficult

Disney has special purpose vehicles... maybe they could be repurposed to perform a similar role for the Senior Staff?
