On the recruitment front - looks like the combination of having one of the highest unemployment rates consistently in Canada, along with being on the border with the US has benefited RCN recruiting numbers in Windsor/Essex County. I'm sure that if Topshee's goal of stationing an 'Orca like' training vessel at HMCS Hunter happens, these numbers could go even higher and still consistent.

HMCS Hunter has averaged 28 recruits a year for the last decade. Since April, it has enrolled 86 new members — the largest number of recruits in “definitely the last 30 years.”
The new recruits include 19 women, seven permanent residents, and 31 co-op students. The youngest is 16. The oldest is 50.
Following that event, HMCS Hunter will have 201 members. Another 150 applications are waiting for assessment, said Elliott.

Mewata in Calgary used to have a lot more space, but have the parking lot was given back to the city who turned it into a parking lot, theres a written agreement not to enforce payment on wednesday nights atleast. However DND had opportunity over the years to buy near by land before it was developed to increase operational space, parking etc. Instead anytime the brigade commander calls a town hall, half the brigade is risking a parking ticket, or walking 5 blocks or more to find parking, and paying for it.

100% agree, even Currie as units are expanding is at its limit and over flow goes onto the street. Ripping up the main parking lot and building one floor sub level would do wonders for the parking situation.
