Production of AMPV was reduced at request of US DoD. Im sure the manufacturer would love to have a FMS take up the slack....but I thought the Canadian Army was done with tracked vehicles?

Hey. They've recently rediscovered mobilization and artillery as concepts - tracks to help the Leo2 can't be far behind.

I mean the AMPV is required to replace the donated or scrapped M113’s, it’s not like it was adopted in a vacuum.

The brain power in our current administration is less than inspiring.

Yes I keep forgetting them - probably intentionally . The KM merger with the French left me less excited for them.

The French make some really cool stuff. Since the med cav vehicles seem to be destined for wheeled brigades I think it would make sense for something like Jaguar. That thing is cool as fuck.

Personally Id like to see Jaguar for LAV bdes and CV9035 as IFVs and as bde/div recce in the tank bde.

A lot of French light armour was designed with Africa in mind. Long distances with minimal logistical support.

Its in the army's plan. There will be a new (8 Hussars probably) Heavy Cav Regt to join the Strats and the RCD and 12 RBC will be getting medium cavalry tracked vehicles (CV90, Bradley, Lynx, Redback or whatever). And when it happens it going to be pretty quick.

I expect that too. I was really wondering more about increased sigs and logistics structures to properly enable, at a minimum, the RegF div. I'm currently writing a new edition to "Unsustainable" so have my head in these things.

Divs get Sigs Regts
The Army gets a Sigs Regt
Each new Bde gets a Sigs unit (I think Regt sized but can't remember for sure)
CCSB gets Organic Sigs
The Light Infantry Regt gets organic Sigs in its HQ (Coy sized? I am not sure, only saw it in document)

Logistics:
Manoeuvre Div gets a Service Bn (not sure about DoC Div)
Support Div takes over all Garrison support so each Svc Bn is whole oriented at supporting its respective field force
Support Div provides staging and extra logistical support to DoC Div during Dom Ops

It's good because we need all these organizations. But it remains unclear where the pers to staff them is going to come from. Some of the delta on the Sigs side will be made up of other soldiers. More combat arms pers in the Sigs Regts (most likely organic to the Tps, not a separate D&S Tp). More formalized Sig training to the pers in non-Sig units.

Support Div to be "civilian-ized" as much a possible. Not a lot of context to what that means. I think it means public servants/contractors hired for base support to get pers in green back to the field force.

Probably a lot more in the order but so far I have only skimmed it looking for first order effects to my org.

No. Just regular public servants, like we have now. People to fix buildings, repair vehicles, re-image computers, etc in garrison. During a crisis the field force deploys and is supported by its organic CS/CSS elements. When the crisis is over the field force returns to base and public servants have kept the lights on, buildings maintained, yearly inspects complete on the vehicles left behind, and whatever else needed to be done in our absence.
