"Canadian Armed Forces rebalances operations to strengthen global footprint"

Realistically Snow goose was shuttered in 1993, I was on the last Roto. Same with the others, the main ops has been closed a while ago and a few staff gigs that really did nothing left to ‘show the flag’.

Canada is better served pulling those to focus on National Security priorities.
Agreed, Kobold was one officer rotated every 6 months, typically a major. I feel such a small mission, our resources could be better used else where.

But if you want to generalize about differing leadership philosophies of the elements, I actually have lived experience in your world and the RCNs. And my worst experiences were all in the Army.
Having worked in all three elements, and having deployed with the army and the RCN, I'll choose the RCN any day.

Each element has it's ups and downs, but in my experience the navy has the best balance, and the air force has the worst. That said, everyone's experience is different.

And yeah of course the RCN is the best option, thats why the manning is so good.
The RCN is short technical trades, just like the CA and RCAF... So nobody is doing well by that metric.

The headline reads like the CAF is picking and choosing its missions and level of investment ... I know the CDS will give the advice, but (if things are functioning as they are supposed to) the government itself should own this decision in government media releases.
