Hi again guys and gals!

Here I'll post my new wallpapers as they come out of my mind.

Keep commenting, I'm always eager to improve all my stuff.

Cheers!

Here's my first Recruiting Wallpaper. Thx to Another Recce Guy for the quote I included. (http://forums.army.ca/forums/threads/27953.15.html)

I must say that this wallpaper and every subsequent wallpapers are not official DND produced. All wallpapers will be posted in this message. This is part of a future CF resources website. I just don't have the name at the time (and I have to learn to make it out... :D)

Note: I just want to comply with the DND/Combat Camera's terms of use of official DND pictures. The terms can be found here and you're encouraged to read at least the 2 first paragraphs (which takes 2sec to read): http://www.forces.gc.ca/site/notices_e.asp

Edit: Typo corrected.
        Put second version.
        Version 2.1. Photo credit added.

I think the message is there whether they look jazzy or not... As well, the image is an excellent selection. It isnt made to make him look cool, but it emphasizes the hard work.

There is a typo in the URL, "Forces" is without an r. Other than that, I like.

Another great desktop. I'm glad to see stuff like this out there, seeing as the GMC ad set in WW2 gave me a bigger hard on for the forces than some of the CF posters  :P

Good looking poster but the words don't flow and seem choppy.
I was hoping that it would not hinder too much the message. I'm still figuring out a way to make it clear and to let the "your family" in the right part. I think that's the only weak part of the 'choopyness'. Any suggestion?

Perhaps you could stick with with the opening line and cut out the middle, have a series of "you will" statements. Things like "you will be relied upon, you will be a new/stronger/better/faster person" etc. and perhaps end by reversing "you will" with "will you take the challenge/challenge yourself"

edited for spelling

Well I am definitely not an expert:

Out here you pull your own weight.
It doesn't matter who you know or where you are from.
Out here you are judged by your performance and nothing else.

I just uploaded the second version. It's clearer. I put more emphasis on the image-words relation.

I like it because it's simple and straight forward. Effective. It plays on two levels: what you read and the "on the street" world vs. the military world. The green is the connection with the camouflage concept which is also present on the maple flag representing the CF.

that should be on every CFRC door and everyone forced to read it before being allowed to enter.

With that poster you'd also have more people on their way into the CFRCs as well.

The first time most of them think there might be hard work involved they run.

I second that!! I think this ad would be aimed at guys and gals who do sports and outdoor activities.

One thing I saw on British recruiting website is profiles. I'd love to see that on CF recruiting website. It put a face on people of the CF, which is really easier to identify with.

Otherwise, Canuck, the message is clearer?

A little but I am not a big fan of the rich faimily thing as I feel it is not really applicable when you talking about the CF but I get it.

Isn't that a good thing?

Unless the army wants lazy people who don't pull triggers

I think the text highlights the fact that the CF won't judge you or where you come from and from which class, the CF is military and emphasize performance and will judge you with that. Message that I find really interesting and that has this 'catchy' style.

Something I've always liked was:

Its not a matter of how good you can be, Nor a matter of how good you have been, but a matter of how good you are right now.

I encourage you to re-read my post containing wallpaper (Updated and edited).  :D
